As an extension of the award-winning concept developed by James Beard Award-winning Chef Tyson Cole, Uchiko blends traditional Japanese flavors with a bold twist, incorporating elements like smoke and char to create a distinctive dining experience. Located in the lively Miami Beach area, Uchiko is part of Hai Hospitality, a dynamic multi-concept restaurant group headquartered in Austin, Texas. Hai Hospitality operates a variety of celebrated restaurant brands such as Uchi, Uchiko, Uchiba, and Loro across multiple major cities including Austin, Houston, Dallas, Denver, Miami, West Hollywood, and Scottsdale. This group is known for its dedication to hospitality, creativity, and fostering a supportive work culture that values employee growth and learning.

The AM Prep Cook position at Uchiko Miami Beach offers an exciting opportunity for culinary professionals to join an esteemed team that emphasizes craftsmanship, teamwork, and a passion for food. This role is designed for individuals who thrive in fast-paced, high-energy kitchen environments where precision and efficiency are paramount. The position offers a competitive hourly pay rate ranging from $18 to $20, based on experience, complemented by a $750 sign-on bonus paid in two installments; the first $250 is awarded after 90 days following training completion, and the remaining $500 is given after six months of employment. The role also includes a range of benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and accident insurance options, pet insurance, a 401k savings plan with employer match, and an Employee Assistance Program offering mental health services.

Prep Cooks at Uchiko Miami Beach perform essential duties that support the culinary team by preparing ingredients, maintaining clean workstations, and ensuring that orders are executed accurately and promptly. Team members in this role are expected to work closely with others, communicate effectively, and adhere to safety and hygiene standards. Uchiko places a strong emphasis on internal growth, promoting employees from within, and providing unique opportunities such as knife reimbursement and sharpening programs, cultural ambassador trips between locations for skill sharing, and daily family meals for staff. With a collaborative work environment and a commitment to excellence, Uchiko offers a rewarding career path for those passionate about culinary arts and hospitality.
