Within the hotel, guests can relax at the W XYZ(SM) bar, grab snacks anytime at Re:fuel by Aloft, or unwind in the lively Re:mix lounge. The rooms feature signature beds with top-notch amenities developed in partnership with Bliss Spa, ensuring a restorative stay.
The role of Director of Sales-Select Service at Aloft Gainesville University Area involves comprehensive leadership and management responsibility for the sales and marketing operations of this select service hotel. This full-time management position requires a strategic individual who can directly oversee all facets of the hotel’s sales department and ensure the achievement of optimal occupancy and average daily rate (ADR) growth. The ultimate goal of this position is to maximize total revenue and meet or surpass the hotel’s profit objectives. The Director will manage the sales team, including hiring, training, and coaching staff to ensure effective sales execution and growth. Responsibilities include managing the sales and marketing budget, forecasting, advertising, and the development and implementation of marketing and business plans tailored to the unique needs of the hotel.
As a key member of the hotel management team, the Director of Sales-Select Service is expected to work diligently to fulfill job duties, which often involve long hours to meet deadlines and business goals. They must be adept in professional selling techniques such as opening, probing, supporting, and closing, and possess strong analytical skills to strategically deploy sales efforts. Effective communication skills are crucial in this role to confidently negotiate contracts, influence corporate clients, and interact with a diverse team and clientele. In addition to managing financials and sales metrics, the Director must uphold Aimbridge Hospitality’s standards and policies while maintaining strong community relationships and ensuring proactive market awareness to forecast revenue opportunities.
Further responsibilities include coordinating all group, transient, and catering sales, developing sales plans to maximize occupancy and food and beverage revenues, conducting outside sales calls, and training the entire hotel staff to recognize sales opportunities. Additionally, the Director frequently represents the hotel at local industry events and maintains relationships with marketing partners. Travel is expected on a weekly basis to support sales initiatives. In situations where the General Manager is unavailable, the Director acts on their behalf, highlighting the seniority and leadership level of this position.
With a competitive salary structure and benefits including daily pay options, medical, dental, and vision coverage, and retirement plans, the Aloft Gainesville University Area offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated sales professional to thrive in a dynamic hospitality environment. This role is ideal for someone with prior hotel sales experience who is comprehensive in managing sales operations and passionate about driving revenue growth in a select service hotel setting.
