Job Description
Ale House is a renowned dining establishment specializing in creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for its guests, with a focus on quality food, beverages, and exceptional customer service. As a part of the hospitality and entertainment industry, Ale House prides itself on offering a memorable experience to all visitors by ensuring prompt and friendly service along with a comfortable setting to enjoy meals and social gatherings. This company is dedicated to maintaining a high standard in the way guests are treated from the moment they enter the restaurant.
Positioned in the heart of the restaurant’s operations, the role of Host/Hostess at Ale House is vital for delivering an outstanding customer experience. The Host/Hostess serves as the first point of contact for all restaurant guests, responsible for warmly greeting each guest, managing seating arrangements, and ensuring an efficient flow in the front of the house. This position requires excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain a calm and pleasant demeanor in a fast-paced environment. The role is part-time, primarily covering evening shifts and weekends with a competitive pay rate of $16.00 per hour.
The Host/Hostess at Ale House not only handles seating and waitlist management but also assists guests with special requests, improving their dining experience. The individual updates and maintains the floor seating charts throughout their shifts, collaborates with wait staff and buspersons to coordinate service flow, and ensures the host stand and surrounding work area are clean and organized. This role demands familiarity with mobile devices and touch screen technology, as the host will interact with reservation systems and manage guest lists effectively.
Additionally, the Host/Hostess plays a crucial role in communication within the team to uphold service quality and comply with company policies and standards, including ethical conduct and safety requirements. The role requires maintaining a neat appearance and representing the restaurant professionally at all times. Certification in food handling, alcohol service (such as TIPS Alcohol Certification), and a Gaming License are mandatory, reflecting the responsibilities in serving alcoholic beverages and maintaining regulatory compliance.
Ale House fosters a collaborative environment emphasizing guest focus, communication proficiency, flexibility, problem solving, and stress management. Employees are supported through training sessions and periodic meetings designed to enhance skills and promote excellence. The work schedule adapts to the unpredictable nature of the hospitality industry, and the role encourages candidates who thrive in a dynamic setting. While travel is not required, the position involves physical mobility and balance due to the active duties involved.
This opportunity at Ale House allows individuals passionate about hospitality to join a reputable restaurant with a commitment to employee benefits such as full insurance coverage, 401K with company match and immediate vesting, vacation and sick days, and incentive programs. As an equal opportunity employer, Ale House values diversity and inclusion, offering fair employment practices and preference in accordance with applicable laws.
