The Counter Sales Associate position at the Fort Worth, TX Northside Retail Shop offers an exciting opportunity to engage with customers across industrial, medical, and specialty gas sectors. This role requires a high level of customer interaction and operational support, making it well-suited for individuals who enjoy problem-solving and building lasting relationships in a fast-paced industrial environment. The Counter Sales Associate serves as a trusted advisor to customers, helping them select the right tools, hardware, equipment, and materials they need to successfully complete their projects. By demonstrating equipment use and educating customers on product quality, the associate opens doors to new solutions targeted at enhancing customer projects.
This role is a blend of sales, customer service, and administrative responsibilities, including managing order entry, handling transactions, and ensuring all paperwork is accurate and compliant. The associate also coordinates merchandise transfers between locations, maintains showroom displays, and supports an outgoing call strategy to contribute to branch growth and customer satisfaction. Job Requirements
- HS diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 plus years of experience in product warehouse or sales environments
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting
- Attention to detail in handling transactions
- Availability for occasional overtime
- Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace
Job Qualifications
- HS diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 plus years of experience in product warehouse or sales environments or an equivalent combination of education and unique life experience
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting
- Experience in industrial retail inside sales or inventory control is a plus
- Attention to detail in handling transactions
- Availability for occasional overtime when the team needs extra support
- Ability to operate in a drug-free workplace
- Background in gas welding or safety supplies is a plus
- Familiarity with SAP Google or MS Office applications
- Detailed understanding of SAP and PROS functionalities
- Ability to communicate clearly and warmly with a wide variety of people from different backgrounds
Job Duties
- Responsible for adherence to company policies including safety and the use of personal protective equipment to ensure a secure environment for everyone
- Provides excellent customer service to both internal and external partners fostering understanding and long-term relationships
- Ensures all required paperwork is accurately completed including coding costing and pricing
- Partners with customers to identify the best tools and procedures for their specific tasks
- demonstrates equipment use to build customer confidence
- Manages order entry and processes transactions
- assists the team with the reconciliation of deposits
- Coordinates via phone email and in person with customers and team members to provide helpful information on costs and delivery
- Contributes to an outgoing call strategy to support the continued growth and success of the branch
- Coordinates the transfer of merchandise between locations to meet customer needs
- Maintains a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a supportive manner with customers vendors and colleagues
- Stocks shelves and maintains welcoming showroom displays to provide an excellent customer experience
- Coordinate cylinder movement and pallet organization
