Job Description

KBR is a global leader in providing innovative and reliable support services, primarily for government and private sector clients. Within the specialized field of military operations support, KBR stands out for its comprehensive solutions that enhance operational readiness and efficiency. As a contractor supporting U.S. military initiatives worldwide, KBR delivers key services that sustain base operations and improve quality of life for deployed personnel. The company’s commitment to excellence is reflected in its diverse programs, of which the AFCAP V Program is a critical component.

The AFCAP V Program enables KBR to support the U.S. Air Force by managing Dining Facility (DFAC) services for the 380th Expeditionary Force Support Squadron (EFSS) at Al Dhafra Air Base. This program entails maintaining mission-critical food service operations, ensuring the upkeep and repair of DFAC equipment, and overseeing key safety and hygiene processes vital to meeting stringent Air Force standards. KBR’s role under this contract further encompasses engineering support, logistics, power production, and other essential base operations services that collectively ensure mission success in the Afghanistan Central Command (CENTCOM) Area of Responsibility (AOR).

The Food Service Supervisor position at Al Dhafra Air Base is a frontline supervisory role responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the dining facility in a challenging and fast-paced deployed environment. This role is pivotal in guaranteeing food service excellence, sanitary compliance, and equipment functionality while managing a multi-cultural team of cooks, food service workers, and support staff. The supervisor ensures that all activities adhere to AFCAP contractual obligations, U.S. Air Force regulations, and applicable health and safety standards.

The role entails direct management of shift personnel, enforcing safety and sanitation protocols, and ensuring the efficient preparation and timely serving of meals. As the point of contact during assigned shifts, this supervisor is accountable for maintaining high customer service standards and operational throughput while handling both steady-state and surge feeding requirements. The position demands strict oversight of food safety, including temperature control, proper food handling, and contamination prevention. Furthermore, the supervisor ensures that equipment used in the kitchen and dining areas is properly maintained and sanitized, coordinating repairs as necessary.

Working in this role requires leadership and exceptional communication skills to manage personnel from diverse backgrounds, including U.S. Navy (USN), local nationals (LN), and other foreign nationals (OCN). The Food Service Supervisor must support inventory control, enforce company policies, respond to customer concerns promptly, and contribute to special events and contingency feeding operations. This role requires obtaining and maintaining a Secret clearance, reflecting the sensitivity and importance of the position within the defense contracting sector.

This full-time position offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. KBR supports its employees with a robust benefits package designed to promote well-being, professional growth, and financial security. By joining KBR as a Food Service Supervisor, you become part of a team dedicated to mission success and operational excellence at one of the U.S. Air Force’s key forward operating bases.
