Job Description

Jasper's is a prominent lottery retailer recognized for its exceptional dedication to guest service and maintaining clean, bright, and safe locations. Unlike numerous other lottery retailers, Jasper's prides itself on elevated customer experience, ensuring that every guest feels welcomed, valued, and delighted when visiting any of their establishments. With a strong emphasis on guest satisfaction, the company provides a variety of services including lottery gaming, dining options, and the sale of tobacco and alcohol products. Locations such as Original Joe's and Richard's exemplify Jasper's commitment to providing guests with a friendly and secure environment to enjoy Oregon Lottery products, dine in comfort, or simply relax with a beverage.

Jasper's understands that team members are the backbone of their success in delivering outstanding guest services. As such, they seek individuals who are not only responsible for fulfilling typical team member duties but also possess the interpersonal skills to foster positive and memorable interactions with each guest. Whether it's assisting guests with lottery purchases, ensuring compliance with legal guidelines around alcohol and tobacco sales, or maintaining cleanliness, every staff member contributes to creating an overall pleasant experience that keeps guests coming back.

The role of Administrative Assistant adds an additional layer of operational support to the team member functions. Beyond providing exemplary guest service, Administrative Assistants are charged with vital administrative responsibilities such as auditing daily, weekly, and period-end paperwork, ensuring cash and inventory controls are met, filling ATMs and safes, and assisting the Regional Manager and supervisors with inventory management and discrepancy investigations. This position demands an individual with a keen eye for detail, the ability to perform simple math and data entry, and the capacity to manage sensitive and confidential information responsibly.

The job involves a variety of interactive and operational tasks, such as greeting guests warmly, educating them about menu and product offerings, carding to ensure compliance with age restrictions, processing transactions, and managing inventory counts. Jasper's adheres strictly to cash handling policies and regulatory compliance related to alcohol and tobacco sales. Cleanliness and hospitality standards are consistently upheld by employees to ensure a welcoming and tidy environment for all patrons.

Applicants for this position must meet several key requirements including holding a high school diploma or equivalent, passing criminal and credit background checks, and possessing proficiency in English or the primary language spoken at their location. Additionally, candidates must hold a current Alcohol Service Permit (OLCC) and be capable of obtaining a valid Food Handler's Card. While previous customer service experience and cash handling skills are advantageous, the ability to communicate effectively with diverse personalities, be guest-sensitive, multi-task efficiently, and work independently or collaboratively within a team is essential.

Jasper's offers both a rewarding work atmosphere and numerous growth opportunities, making it an attractive employer for those seeking a career in retail and hospitality within the lottery and dining sectors. The company emphasizes respect, teamwork, and professional development as foundational pillars aligning with their mission to deliver outstanding service and memorable experiences to every guest who walks through their doors.
