The role of Activities Support Staff at Roberts Resorts & Communities is a temporary position spanning a season starting around October 1, 2026, and continuing through approximately April 15, 2027. This role is an essential part of the activities department where the staff member collaborates closely with a team to facilitate a broad range of events. Events may vary in size and type, including concerts, dances, happy hours, trivia nights, luncheons, vendor shows, and much more. Activities Support Staff play a vital role in event execution, focusing on everything from setup to guest services, and ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for all attendees.

This position requires working in diverse environments, which may include indoor and outdoor venues. The schedule can be demanding and may involve working evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on the specific event calendar. Physical endurance is important as the role often involves lifting and moving equipment, setting up venues, and maintaining a clean environment during and after events. The Activities Support Staff must be flexible and ready to adapt to various roles within the department such as cashiering, bartending support, ticket taking, and food service during banquets, which requires cross-training.

Employees in this role are expected to uphold safety and compliance standards rigorously, including adherence to fire codes and emergency protocols. They are also responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, providing clear and friendly communication with guests, and addressing any questions or concerns promptly and professionally. Job Requirements

  • temporary employment from approximately 10/01/2026 to 04/15/2027
  • ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • physical stamina for standing long periods and lifting up to 50 pounds
  • current Arizona Safe Food Handler Certificate and Title 4 Alcohol Certification or willingness to obtain within 15 days of hire
  • strong interpersonal skills
  • ability to follow safety protocols and emergency procedures
  • flexibility to work in various roles within the activities department

Job Qualifications

  • strong communication skills to interact effectively with guests and team members
  • ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting equipment and setting up venues

Job Duties

  • Prepare event venues by setting up chairs, tables, stages, and audio-visual equipment
  • assist in packing up and cleaning the venue after events
  • welcome guests and provide information
  • cashier as needed
  • work under the direction of an event manager to ensure smooth event execution including managing registrations and ticketing
  • ensure all safety protocols including fire code regulations and emergency procedures are followed
  • provide exceptional service addressing guest questions or concerns promptly
  • be cross-trained to fill other positions such as cashier, bar back, ticket taker, and banquet food server
