The role of Activities Coordinator at Episcopal SeniorLife Communities is a full-time position with a competitive starting pay rate of $21.00 per hour, scheduled Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm. This vital position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and facilitating a diverse array of programs and activities designed to enrich the lives of residents. The coordinator's programs span physical exercise, social interaction, recreational opportunities, intellectual and educational pursuits, creative arts, entertainment, religious engagements, and service or volunteering activities. Through these varied offerings, the Activities Coordinator helps foster an engaging and supportive environment that celebrates residents' interests, values, and beliefs.
The coordinator works closely with residents to understand their past and present interests and hobbies, ensuring that activities are personalized and fulfilling. In addition to direct resident engagement, the coordinator assists with the orientation of new residents, supports shopping needs as necessary, and arranges frequent outings that are safe, comfortable, and timely. Administrative responsibilities include ordering and maintaining supplies, keeping an updated log of vehicle usage and maintenance, preparing and communicating monthly event calendars, maintaining informative bulletin boards, and recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers for various functions. Collaboration with other recreation directors every other month further ensures the program remains dynamic and responsive to community needs.

Job Requirements
- Associate degree in recreational therapy or similar degree preferred
- valid driver's license with a clean driving record and willingness to drive van to transport residents
- possess computer skills (Microsoft Word, Office and Publisher)
- experience in a recreational setting
- experience in planning and providing activities for older adults preferred

- this position may/will be required to provide direct care or have access to resident property or belongings
- experience in a recreational setting

Job Duties
- Meet with residents to determine past and current interests and hobbies
- assist in the orientation of new residents
- shop for residents as needed
- plan and provide physical (exercise), social, recreational, intellectual/educational, creative, entertainment, religious, service/volunteering programs and special requests of the residents
- include residents to help plan program activities
- order and maintain supplies necessary for programs
- arrange regularly scheduled outings
- assist with transporting residents safely, comfortably and in a timely fashion
- keep updated log on all coach miles and maintenance
- prepare, post, and communicate monthly calendar of events
- communicate programs and schedule to residents
- maintain bulletin boards monthly with various pictures of activities, health information, and trivia
- meet with recreation directors every other month to plan events
- recruit volunteers for specific functions
- train, orient and supervise all volunteers
- maintain list of all volunteers
