The role of the Adult Community Clinical Services (ACCS) Recovery Coach is integral to Aspire's multidisciplinary team approach. This position primarily supports clients with substance use disorders by providing peer counseling, mentorship, and outreach services. The Recovery Coach works under clinical supervision and aligns with the organization’s mission to empower clients in their recovery journey. This involves providing education, treatment assistance, crisis intervention, and family support. The position requires the coach to utilize their own experiences in recovery to build trust and credibility with clients, offering guidance, encouragement, and validation.

Key responsibilities include advocating for client self-determination, helping clients and team members combat stigma associated with mental health and substance use disorders, and promoting participation in consumer self-help and advocacy programs. The coach also acts as a liaison with consumer-run programs and organizes social and recreational activities to enhance clients' social skills and community involvement. The required work schedule is Sunday through Thursday, noon to 8 PM, and necessitates certification as a Peer Specialist.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • certified addictions recovery coach
  • candidate must identify as being in recovery from a substance use disorder
  • willingness to share personal recovery experience
  • ability to work flexibly and collaboratively with a team
  • valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle
  • good driving record
  • skills to establish trusting relationships with clients
  • commitment to respecting client rights and preferences
  • bilingual skills preferred
