Job Description
Explico is an employee-owned forensic engineering firm that is deeply committed to uncovering the truth through scientific rigor and objective analysis. Established as a trusted leader in the forensic investigation field, Explico operates with a clear focus on integrity, unbiased investigation, and the long-term impact of their work. Unlike many competitors influenced heavily by financial motives, Explico prioritizes the quality and accuracy of their investigations while fostering a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment. Their team includes experts in accident reconstruction, biomechanics, human factors, and other specialty areas, all working together united by a shared passion for the craft of investigation rather than purely for business outcomes.
Explico is proud to drive the growth and development of the next generation of forensic experts by nurturing newcomers to the field through mentorship, hands-on training, and exposure to complex cases. Their employee-owned model encourages team members to engage fully in their work and invest in the company’s future as well as the ethical standards that define their profession.
The role of Entry-Level Accident Reconstructionist at Explico offers an exceptional opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional with a background in mechanical engineering or related fields to join this dynamic team. This full-time position is hybrid remote based in Bellingham, WA, and offers a competitive salary range from $70,000 to $90,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with senior forensic engineers and accident reconstructionists to investigate vehicle crashes and other incidents. Your responsibilities will span assisting field investigations including vehicle and site inspections, supporting the analysis of vehicle dynamics and crash causation, downloading and interpreting event data recorder (EDR) data, and aiding in the preparation of visuals, charts, and reports. You will also participate in team meetings and client-facing discussions, contributing to compelling presentations for clients and legal teams.
This position is designed to immerse you in a multidisciplinary environment, providing mentorship and training on advanced simulation tools and techniques. Explico emphasizes strong communication skills and mechanical aptitude, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development. In addition to engaging in nationally visible and high-impact forensic cases, the role offers substantial personal and professional growth supported by educational assistance programs, communication training, and a collaborative work culture.
Explico provides a generous benefits package including full healthcare coverage (medical, dental, vision), life and disability insurance, paid time off, 401(k) matching up to 6%, and relocation assistance. Employees benefit from a flexible hybrid work environment allowing some remote work and collaboration at their Bellingham office.
Joining Explico means becoming part of a mission-driven company where your investigative skills contribute directly to revealing truth and ensuring justice through scientific excellence and ethical practice. This role promises a fulfilling career path for individuals passionate about engineering, investigation, and making a tangible difference in the forensic field.
