GardaWorld is committed to providing equal employment opportunities and maintaining a workplace that values diversity and inclusivity. As the only guarding security company in the United States certified by Great Place to Work, GardaWorld offers not only jobs but rewarding career paths with growth opportunities for its employees. With a focus on security, professionalism, and customer service excellence, GardaWorld supports its workforce with comprehensive training and benefits, creating an engaging and supportive work environment.
The role of Surveillance Security Officer at GardaWorld Security Services is a vital part of the company’s core mission to detect, deter, and respond to security threats proactively. Based in Scranton, PA, this part-time morning position allows for a consistent schedule from 6:30 am to 5 pm on Mondays and Fridays, providing a competitive hourly wage of $18.00 with the added benefit of DailyPay availability for GardaWorld employees. The Surveillance Security Officer will primarily operate within security operations centers, call centers, parking gatehouses, or similar environments, where constant vigilance and attention to detail are crucial. This position requires monitoring a series of security screens to detect any suspicious activity, documenting observations thoroughly, responding quickly and effectively to potential security threats, and ensuring overall safety within the assigned premises.
This job is ideal for individuals with sharp observation skills, strong visual acuity, and exceptional concentration, complemented by proficient report writing and technology skills. GardaWorld prioritizes safety and collaboration, expecting Officers to conduct regular patrols, control access to secure areas, and work closely with law enforcement during serious incidents. The comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching contributions, paid time off, paid holidays, disability coverage, and life insurance options. GardaWorld also provides a uniform at no cost and offers career growth prospects, with many corporate employees having started as frontline workers.
Candidates are expected to pass a strict security clearance background check and possibly drug screening contingent on a job offer. A high school diploma or GED is mandatory, along with authorization to work in the United States. CPR certification is required, but GardaWorld is willing to provide training for this qualification. Prior security experience of 2-3 years is necessary, and military, law enforcement, or state-licensed security experience is a strong advantage. The role embodies GardaWorld’s dedication to maintaining high operational standards while fostering an environment where employees can thrive both personally and professionally. Application for this role offers the chance to become a GardaWorld Ambassador with entrepreneurial spirit and ambition, taking a significant step in a promising security career.
