Job Description

WOLFoods, Inc. is a pioneering company operating summer camp kitchens across the United States between May and September, specializing in providing a fresh and innovative approach to camp food service. Unlike traditional camp kitchens that heavily rely on freezer-to-table meals, WOLFoods emphasizes home-style scratch cooking and partners with camps committed to offering healthy, fresh, and delicious food options to campers. This approach has elevated the standard of camp cuisine, creating an inviting and nutritious dining experience that everyone at camp can enjoy. The company's dedication extends beyond just food quality; it also focuses on educating campers about balanced diets, environmental sustainability, and cultural diversity through cuisine. The kitchens and dining halls operated by WOLFoods are not only places to eat but also spaces to learn about nutrition and green initiatives. Every meal service is carefully crafted to ensure special dietary needs, such as kosher, nut-free, gluten-free, or vegan diets, are thoroughly and professionally accommodated. This meticulous attention to dietary restrictions is a cornerstone of WOLFoods' commitment to exceptional service and camper well-being.

WOLFoods is now seeking experienced, motivated, and capable Kitchen Managers/Head Chefs to serve as Lead Staff in their summer camp kitchens. This hands-on and demanding position will require on-site residence at the camp location, with provided room, board, and travel expense assistance. The role demands flawless execution of the WOLFoods Camp Food Service Program, requiring expertise in food allergens, dietary restrictions, recipe planning and implementation, and adherence to strict sanitation protocols to avoid cross-contamination and cross-contact. As a Kitchen Manager or Head Chef, you will oversee the entire culinary operation of the camp, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, quantity, service timing, and presentation across all meal periods and special requests. Your leadership will extend to managing and training both front and back of house staff, maintaining clean and comfortable kitchen and dining environments, and serving as the primary communication liaison between the camp leadership and the kitchen team. This role will involve active participation in meetings, handling payroll, addressing special requests, and responding to any concerns expressed by camp directors or other leadership figures. A keen sense of urgency, excellent communication skills, and the ability to foster a positive work environment are essential. This seasonal role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about culinary leadership, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and embrace the opportunity to be part of a dynamic team in a rustic, community-focused setting. The compensation package includes competitive pay, a bonus system, and comprehensive seasonal benefits such as room, board, and transportation expense assistance. If you are a culinary professional seeking a meaningful summer opportunity to lead, teach, and innovate within the unique context of summer camp kitchens, WOLFoods offers an ideal environment to advance your career while making a positive impact on young campers' dining experiences.
