Job Description

Wolfoods, Inc. is a pioneering company that operates summer camp kitchens across the United States during the months of May through September. This organization sets itself apart by elevating the traditional camp food experience with a commitment to home-style scratch cooking. Unlike conventional approaches that often rely on freezer-to-table meals, Wolfoods provides fresh, healthy, and delicious foods prepared on-site. It partners closely with camps dedicated to offering campers a balanced diet infused with cultural diversity and green initiatives, aiming to transform the perception of camp food into what they call Camp Cuisine.

The culinary professionals at Wolfoods are part of a mission to not only serve food but also educate campers on nutritional principles through diverse menu offerings that include freshly baked items, a fruit and yogurt bar, salad bars, and accommodating special dietary needs such as Kosher, Nut Free, Gluten Free, and Vegan options. Wolfoods kitchens are known for their high-volume production and their dedication to quality, which requires a team of motivated and capable culinary staff to maintain flawless execution of service standards and food quality.

This specific role is for Bakers/Pastry Chefs at Wolfoods’ summer camp kitchens. It is a hands-on, demanding position that requires a combination of culinary skill, leadership, and excellent communication. All culinary staff live on-site at their respective camp locations, with room, board, and travel accommodations provided. This role is essential to the success of the Wolfoods Camp Food Service Program, ensuring meals are prepared on time, in correct quantities, and to the highest quality.

Bakers and Pastry Chefs at Wolfoods are responsible for producing scratch-made baked goods, managing bakery staff, and contributing to the overall culinary environment with initiative, teaching, and leadership. The role demands physical endurance to work long hours in fast-paced, sometimes extreme temperature conditions, and the ability to supervise and train team members effectively. Candidates must be proficient at following standardized recipes, controlling inventory, and ensuring all health and safety regulations are strictly observed. The position also involves direct interaction with children, camp staff, and management, requiring professionalism and a responsive attitude to service inquiries.

Wolfoods seeks candidates who are comfortable working in a high-volume commercial kitchen, self-motivated, quality-driven, and ready to embrace a team-oriented and educational work culture during the summer season. The workweek is typically a minimum of 70 hours over six days, reflecting the demanding nature of the role. Ideal candidates are those seeking meaningful seasonal opportunities, who enjoy the challenge of large-scale food production, and who are willing to relocate to a rustic, communal living environment for the summer.

Wolfoods offers a competitive salary along with bonus opportunities, seasonal summer contracts, and assistance with transportation to and from the job site. In addition to compensation, the company provides room and board at the camp. The organization emphasizes equal employment opportunities and values diversity, ensuring that all applicants are considered based on job-related qualifications without discrimination.

This position is a unique opportunity for culinary professionals to expand their skills in an inspiring environment while making a positive impact on campers’ experiences through quality food service and education. Bakers and Pastry Chefs at Wolfoods play a critical role in creating a vibrant camp kitchen atmosphere that upholds the company’s high standards of service and culinary excellence.
