As a crucial member of our team, the Baker will execute a wide variety of tasks throughout the store, including checking and bagging groceries. Precise scaling of cakes, cupcakes, sweet rolls, breads, and cookies is essential to maintain consistency and quality. Additionally, the Baker will assist with personalizing cakes and icing various baked goods, enhancing the customer’s purchase value and satisfaction.
Customer engagement is a key part of the Baker’s responsibilities. Greeting customers warmly, providing product information, offering selling suggestions, and actively sampling products are expected behaviors. The Baker helps foster customer loyalty by creating an inviting atmosphere and providing genuine thanks with every interaction.
Maintaining a clean and organized work environment is critical, including the cleanliness of the bench, production areas, storage, and refrigeration units. The Baker supports safety by adhering to proper food handling procedures and ensuring that all bakery products are displayed neatly and rotated regularly to preserve freshness.
This full-time position requires a motivated individual able to work independently, multitask efficiently, and communicate effectively with team members and customers alike. Physical stamina is necessary for performing tasks such as standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, and walking. While the main focus will be in the bakery department, the role may occasionally involve work in other departments as needed.

Job Qualifications
- Friendly and customer service oriented
- Interest in food and cooking a plus
- Customer service, restaurant, barista, food service, grocery or similar experience desired
- Self-motivated, with a high attention to detail, quality and presentation
- Skills to communicate effectively with coworkers and customers
- Ability to work independently, effectively manage time and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to read, understand and follow through on verbal and written directions
- Ability to reliably meet required work schedule and adhere to company attendance policy
- Must be 18 years of age
Job Duties
- Maintaining a positive and friendly attitude towards customers and fellow team members
- Engaging with customers through smiles and greetings, offering product information, providing selling suggestions and active sampling, and always giving a genuine thank you
- Mixing, weighing, proofing, baking, frying, decorating, finishing and merchandising quality bakery products using recipes
- Loading and unloading the oven, knowing the proper temperatures and duration to bake all varieties of product
- Scaling cakes and cupcakes, ice sweet rolls, breads and cookies
- Assisting in the ordering and receiving of bakery products and supplies
- Controlling product inventory and out of stocks, shrink and supplies
