Other

Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting veterans who have incurred physical or mental injuries, illnesses, or wounds during their military service on or after September 11, 2001.

Established in 2003, WWP offers a comprehensive range of programs and services aimed at enhancing the quality of life for these veterans and their families.

One of WWP's flagship initiatives is the Warrior Care Network, a mental wellness program that provides treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and traumatic brain injury (TBI) through partnerships with four academic medical centers across the United States.

This program offers a two-week, individualized care plan designed to expedite healing and support each warrior's unique journey. Since its inception in 2015, Warrior Care Network has served over 10,400 injured post-9/11 veterans and their families.

Another key program is Warriors to Work, which assists veterans and their family members in transitioning to civilian employment.

This program provides career counseling, job placement assistance, resume writing support, interview preparation, and networking opportunities, empowering veterans to achieve their highest career ambitions.

The Independence Program offers long-term support for veterans with severe injuries, such as brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, or other neurological conditions.

Services include case management, access to community support specialists, and alternative therapies like art, music, and equine therapies, all aimed at promoting independence and enhancing quality of life.

WWP also organizes events like the Soldier Ride, an annual cycling event that raises awareness for injured veterans and emphasizes the nation's duty to support service members and their families.

The 2024 Soldier Ride was launched from the White House lawn by First Lady Jill Biden, highlighting the organization's commitment to veterans.
