The David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts, commonly known as the Straz Center, is a premier cultural hub located in downtown Tampa, Florida. Established in July 1987, the center spans 335,000 square feet along the scenic Tampa Riverwalk. It is one of the largest performing arts complexes in the United States.

Theaters

The Straz Center comprises five distinct theaters designed to accommodate a variety of performances:

• Carol Morsani Hall: Seating capacity of 2,610; hosts Broadway musicals, operas, ballets, and concerts.
• Ferguson Hall: Seats 1,042; suitable for plays, pop concerts, and dance events.
• Jaeb Theater: A 312-seat theater offering an intimate setting for plays, cabaret shows, recording sessions, television productions, seminars, and business meetings.
• TECO Theater: Located within the Patel Conservatory; a 2,500-square-foot versatile space serving as rehearsal hall and performance venue.
• Shimberg Playhouse: A 130-seat venue ideal for smaller performances, located between the Center Store and the Jaeb Theater.

Patel Conservatory

The Straz Center features the Patel Conservatory, a 45,000-square-foot facility dedicated to arts education. It includes 20 studios, three dance studios with sprung floors, a sound and lighting laboratory, technical theater workshop, rehearsal hall, costume shop, and a state-of-the-art black box theater.

Annually, the Patel Conservatory serves nearly 65,000 students through classes and instructional activities, fostering community engagement in the arts.
