Rusty Taco is a fast-casual restaurant chain specializing in street-style tacos and Mexican-inspired cuisine. Founded in 2010 by Rusty Fenton and his wife, Denise Fenton, the first location opened in Dallas, Texas. The concept was born from the Fentons' desire to create a welcoming space for authentic, made-from-scratch tacos.

The menu features a diverse selection of tacos including Baja Shrimp, Fish (Grilled or Crispy), Steak Fajita, and BBQ Brisket. Besides tacos, the restaurant offers burritos, quesadillas, nachos, taco salads, and desserts. To complement meals, Rusty Taco serves warm chips with house-made salsas, craft beers, and no-frills margaritas.

In January 2025, Rusty Taco introduced a refreshed menu with bold flavors and new items. Highlights include:

• Tres Grande—a trio of signature queso, salsa, and guacamole served with house-made chips
• Rolled Tacos and Cracked Tostada Shrimp Ceviche

Company Growth and Expansion

As of 2022, Rusty Taco operates 37 locations across multiple states including Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Ohio, Texas, and Virginia. The company continues to grow and expand its footprint, serving its signature tacos to a broad audience.

In December 2022, Rusty Taco was acquired by Gala Capital Partners, which also owns other brands like Cicis Pizza, Dunn Brothers Coffee, and Mooyah. This acquisition aims to further expand and enhance the Rusty Taco experience.
