Manufacturers' Golf & Country Club, located in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania, is a distinguished private club that seamlessly blends rich history with modern amenities.
Established in 1887 as the Manufacturers' Club of Philadelphia, it was founded by a group of industrial leaders from the textile manufacturing sector. The original clubhouse was situated at Broad and Walnut Streets in Center City, Philadelphia.
In 1923, the club relocated to its current 250-acre estate in Fort Washington, a site with historical significance as part of George Washington's Whitemarsh Encampment during the American Revolutionary War.
Golf Course
The centerpiece of the club is its 18-hole golf course designed by renowned architect William S. Flynn. Opened in 1925, the course is celebrated for its strategic layout integrating natural topography like rolling hills and Sandy Run Creek.
