White Mountains Community College (WMCC) boasts a nationally recognized Culinary Arts program – in fact NICHE ranks WMCC among the 2025 Best Culinary Colleges in America – and it regularly hosts and participates in career and job fairs.

In 2025, WMCC is offering several opportunities for students (and the public) to meet employers and explore culinary/hospitality careers. These include campus open-house events and regional job fairs with industry partners. For example, WMCC’s annual campus Career & Resource Fair was open to the public (previously held November 2023), and the college collaborates with New Hampshire agencies on specialized career expos.

Spring 2025 Events at WMCC

Spring 2025 was an active season for career development at White Mountains Community College, with a variety of events designed to connect students, prospective students, and graduates with real-world industry opportunities.

From campus open houses to targeted job fairs, WMCC provided multiple pathways for culinary and hospitality students to network, explore potential career paths, and engage directly with employers.

Littleton Campus Open House (April 4, 2025)

WMCC’s Littleton Academic Center hosted an open house on April 4, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., inviting prospective students and families to tour the facilities and learn about programs. This event was explicitly billed as an opportunity to “explore exciting career programs” at WMCC.

Faculty, current students, and alumni staffed information tables (often representing programs like Hospitality & Culinary, Baking, and Food Service) and answered questions. While not a formal job fair, the open house often includes career-oriented workshops or Q&A sessions, and WMCC encourages attendees to register in advance (schools were asked to RSVP via email).

“Littleton Resource & Job Fair” (May 13, 2025)

In mid-May, WMCC’s Littleton campus serves as host for a broader community job fair. According to local event listings, the “2025 Littleton Resource Fair” takes place at WMCC on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 from 12:00–4:00 p.m.

This fair brings together a mix of employers and service organizations under one roof. Participants include local businesses and agencies seeking to recruit for seasonal and year-round positions in sectors like hospitality, healthcare, education and social services (for example, animal shelters, schools, municipal agencies, and local resorts often attend these events).

Admission are open to all (typically free), and students are welcome to drop in without preregistration.

Level Up: Career & College Exploration Day (May 21, 2025)

On Wednesday, May 21, 2025, WMCC’s main Berlin campus hosts a youth-oriented career expo in partnership with NH’s Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation (VR New Hampshire).

Dubbed “Level Up: Career & College Exploration Day,” this in-person event runs from 9:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and targets high school seniors and recent graduates. Attendees have the chance to tour the WMCC campus, meet program instructors (including Culinary faculty), and talk with recruiters from area businesses.

Employers at this fair typically include regional ski resorts, hotels, restaurants, and technical employers. While official details are provided via VR and school channels, WMCC aligns this event with its hospitality program – for example, showcasing its unique apprenticeship partnership with the Omni Mount Washington Resort – to highlight jobs in lodging, foodservice and tourism.

Participating Employers

Local hospitality and food-service employers are regular participants in WMCC’s career events. In WMCC’s Culinary internship program, students have worked at well-known North Country establishments – for instance, the “Polish Princess” and “Smoking Trees” restaurants in Lancaster, the Wildcat Tavern and Red Fox Inn in Jackson, and the Omni Mount Washington Resort in Bretton Woods – and many of these same employers recruit at WMCC fairs.

In fact, WMCC highlights those internship ties, noting apprenticeships at the Omni and hands-on placements at local restaurants.

More broadly, past job fairs (such as WMCC’s 2020 “North Country Hospitality & Recreation” virtual fair) have featured hundreds of job openings in lodging and foodservice.

Ski areas (Wildcat, Bretton Woods, etc.), hotels, large restaurants, and catering companies are especially likely to participate; their HR representatives and recruiters come to campus career events seeking chefs, bakers, line cooks, servers, and managers.

Smaller businesses (craft breweries, small inns, local farms, etc.) also attend to fill seasonal and internship roles.

When community nonprofits host resource fairs at WMCC (like the Littleton fair), employers range from utility companies to nonprofits, but students pursuing Culinary or Hospitality careers should focus on the industry tables and ask about internships or entry-level jobs in food/beverage.

Registration and Special Features

Most WMCC-hosted career events in 2025 are free and open to students, alumni, and the public. Students typically register via online forms (through WMCC’s event pages or partner sites) or even by classroom sign-up.

For example, employers and organizations are generally asked to register through the New Hampshire Employment Security (NHES) portal for in-person fairs; WMCC’s Berlin Career Fair page (from 2023) directed recruiters to sign up at business.nh.gov/nhesjobfair.

Likewise, at the May 13 Littleton fair and May 21 Level Up expo, companies likely will likely use NHES or WMCC contact emails to confirm participation. WMCC publicizes deadlines for company registration on its websites and via email outreach.

Each event also offers networking opportunities. At the open house, prospective students chat informally with faculty and career counselors about internships and scholarships. The Level Up day included mini-workshops and campus tours, giving young adults exposure to college life and on-campus hospitality facilities (like the WMCC Bistro kitchen).

Some fairs feature themed receptions or panel discussions: for instance, past WMCC events have included employer panels on career pathways in tourism and hospitality. Virtual components pop up as well – during the 2020 NH Lodging & Restaurant virtual fair, job seekers had online booths and chat function; in 2025, WMCC may incorporate livestream sessions for remote attendees.

Final Thoughts

In summary, WMCC’s 2025 calendar included multiple career-exploration events. Students and job-seekers could mark their calendars for WMCC’s Littleton Open House on April 4, the Littleton Job Fair on May 13, and the Berlin Career Expo on May 21.

These events, supported by New Hampshire’s career agencies and WMCC’s hospitality department, featured representatives from resorts, restaurants, hotels, and food-service companies – the same industry leaders who mentor WMCC interns.

Registration details and timelines were circulated via school newsletters and college websites, and interested students could sign up in advance (often by email or an online RSVP) to attend and network with employers.
