This Iconic Rotating Restaurant in NYC’s Times Square Is Reopening Soon

New York Marriott Marquis hotel at Times Square

This winter, New York City’s hospitality scene will welcome the reopening of The View, the city’s only rotating restaurant. Located on the 47th and 48th floors of the New York Marriott Marquis in Times Square, diners at The View can expect 360° panoramic views of the Manhattan skyline, coupled with a revitalized dining experience under the leadership of Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group (USHG).

The relaunch marks a new chapter for The View, which had been closed for a period of time due to renovations. This iconic venue is renowned not just for its unique rotating feature but also for its location in the heart of New York’s Theater District, attracting both locals and tourists.

Danny Meyer’s Vision for The View’s Rebirth

Danny Meyer, founder and executive chairman of USHG, expressed his excitement for the reopening, emphasizing how special The View is to both New Yorkers and visitors

“Both the New York Marriott Marquis and USHG were established in 1985, and each has played a pivotal role in reshaping New York’s hospitality landscape over the past 40 years,” Meyer stated. “By combining culinary excellence with warm hospitality, we intend to create a destination dining experience and evening out — smack dab in the heart of the Broadway Theater District — that appeals to New Yorkers and visitors alike. At The View, we’ll be taking a look back, forward and all around!”

Guests visiting the 48th floor of The View will be able to enjoy a 20-seat bar and lounge, complete with a full-service bar, raw bar and small plates. For those seeking a more formal dining experience, a spiral staircase leads to the full-service restaurant on the 47th floor, where nightly live music will set the mood.

Revitalizing Dining in the Heart of Times Square

Daniel Nadeau, the area general manager at the New York Marriott Marquis, emphasized the significance of The View within the Times Square district. “Together with USHG, we’re redefining the standard of a Times Square restaurant in the same way that the Marriott Marquis reimagined this neighborhood when it first opened in 1985,” Nadeau commented.

He also remarked on the blend of history and innovation that will shape the reopening, saying, “The View will always be a historic part of New York, now with an added touch of downtown sensibility and USHG’s signature hospitality.”

The relaunch of The View represents a collaboration between two iconic institutions — USHG and the Marriott Marquis — both of which have played crucial roles in shaping New York City’s hospitality scene. For Times Square, a hub that continually reinvents itself, The View aims to redefine what it means to dine in the area

For those exploring new opportunities in New York City’s lively restaurant scene, The View reopening may signal an ideal time to look into hospitality jobs in NYC.

A New Chapter for NYC’s Iconic Rotating Restaurant

As The View prepares to reopen, it promises to deliver not only breathtaking skyline views but also an enhanced culinary experience that will appeal to both New Yorkers and tourists. With Union Square Hospitality Group’s renowned expertise, the restaurant is set to become a premier destination for dining in the heart of Manhattan’s Theater District.

The combination of live music, a refined menu and unparalleled views will make The View a must-visit spot in the city this winter. In fact, it could possibly soon join the ranks of new NYC restaurants recognized by the Michelin Guide, adding even more prestige to Midtown’s dining scene.
