Currently, Zingerman's Coffee Company is seeking to hire a full-time Barista to join the team at their coffee bar. This position requires a commitment of 4-5 shifts per week, with a mandatory schedule that includes Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Shifts may vary between early morning (6:30am) to mid-afternoon (4:30pm), providing a dynamic work schedule that caters to peak coffee times and customer flow. The Barista role offers a competitive starting base wage of $15.50 per hour, with the potential to earn an additional $5 to $6 per hour in tips, bringing the total starting compensation to between $20.50 and $21.50 per hour.

The Barista will be an integral part of delivering exceptional customer experiences by greeting and assisting guests with enthusiasm and energy both in the shop and over the phone. Responsibilities include brewing and discussing all methods of tea and coffee preparation, preparing espresso-based drinks with precision—including milk steaming and drink construction—and consistently tasting and evaluating coffee to maintain the highest quality standards. The Barista is expected to actively enhance their expertise in coffee knowledge and skills, ensuring a deep understanding of Zingerman’s roasting processes and production schedules. Additionally, the role involves handling monetary transactions through a Point of Sale (POS) system, adhering strictly to operational procedures such as opening and closing checklists, restocking and rotating products, and maintaining cleanliness in dining and work areas.
