Job Description
Grenville Baker Boys & Girls Club has been an integral and beloved part of the community for more than 70 years. Serving between 150 to 200 children daily, this nonprofit organization focuses on nurturing youth through a variety of enriching programs tailored to help them successfully transition from childhood through adolescence and eventually into adulthood. The club designs its programs to transform the natural energy and curiosity of young people into constructive and positive activities that address some of the most critical youth issues of today. These programs span core areas such as Education & Career Development, Health & Life Skills, Character & Leadership Development, The Arts, and Sports, Fitness & Recreation. This extensive and multi-dimensional approach ensures that each child receives holistic development opportunities in a safe, supportive, and fun environment.
We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Coordinator for our school-age members in grades 6-8, often referred to as Tweens. This position involves after-school hours scheduled Monday through Friday from 3 pm to 7 pm, from September 8, 2025, through June 26, 2026. The successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting and supervising youth development assistants while providing direct guidance to the children within this age group. Duties include assisting with homework to ensure academic support, coordinating engaging and fun recreational activities to foster physical fitness and social skills, and implementing a diverse range of high-quality programming developed by the Boys & Girls Club of America.
The Coordinator will have the vital responsibility of maintaining a safe and welcoming environment, prioritizing the health and well-being of every child in our care. Building and nurturing respectful and positive relationships with both the children and their families is a cornerstone of this role, contributing to a community-oriented atmosphere where youth feel valued and motivated.
Ideal candidates will bring a strong background in working with children, preferably with experience in camps, sports coaching, or educational settings specifically tailored to middle school students (grades 6-8). Previous teaching experience or a related educational background would be particularly advantageous. We look for energetic, inspiring, and compassionate individuals who are committed to making a positive impact on youth development. The hourly wage for this position is competitive, ranging from $17 to $18 per hour, reflecting the importance of the role within our organization. If you are passionate about youth mentorship and excited to contribute to a dynamic and supportive program, we encourage you to apply.
