Job Description

The Boys & Girls Club is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment for children and youth to grow, learn, and thrive. Known for its commitment to community building and youth development, the Club offers various programs aimed at fostering positive relationships, educational achievement, and healthy lifestyles. With multiple club sites, the organization plays a crucial role in supporting families and communities by offering after-school programs, summer camps, and other enrichment activities designed to promote the social, emotional, and physical development of young people.

The role of Youth Development Receptionist is integral to the smooth operation of the Club. Reporting directly to the Unit Director or Assistant Unit Director, the Youth Development Receptionist is responsible not only for warmly greeting visitors but also for managing computerized entry tracking to monitor member attendance. Attention to detail and the ability to multitask are essential in this busy environment. The role also includes assisting with additional data entry tasks as needed, contributing to the efficient management and safety of the Club environment.

The Youth Development Receptionist plays a pivotal role in maintaining safety and compliance by ensuring that all organizational safety standards are met and that emergency procedures are followed consistently. This position requires regular assessment of risks and hazards within the facility to protect members and staff alike. The receptionist also supports facilities management duties, including maintaining cleanliness, security, and assisting in the overall upkeep of the Club. Community engagement is another fundamental aspect, as the receptionist helps build positive relationships with parents, schools, and external community partners. In addition, the Youth Development Receptionist is tasked with assisting Site Directors with staff performance management, coaching, and handling disciplinary matters involving children or parents.

This position is well-suited for individuals with strong organizational and communication skills who thrive in a community-focused, fast-paced environment. The role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interact with diverse groups. Travel to various Club sites and some outdoor activity are required, with mileage reimbursement provided for travel outside assigned counties. Overall, the Youth Development Receptionist contributes significantly to the Club’s mission by fostering a welcoming atmosphere, ensuring safety, and supporting program operations through meticulous record-keeping and data management. This job offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to make a meaningful impact in youth development and community service while gaining valuable experience in a nonprofit setting.
