Job Description

Young Life is a faith-based nonprofit organization dedicated to reaching and mentoring adolescents with the message of Jesus Christ. This position is for a committed and passionate individual who subscribes fully to Young Life's Statement of Faith and Christian mission. The role involves ministering as a servant of God with the primary responsibility of proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ and participating in the spiritual development of youth. This position demands a willingness to engage in ministry functions including spiritual development, leadership development, resource development, direct ministry to youth, and ministry support. Key responsibilities include building and leading teams, recruiting and training leaders, raising funds, organizing ministry events, and maintaining donor relationships. The role requires active participation in contact work, clubs, discipleship programs, and camp ministry, creating a comprehensive ministry impact.

Furthermore, this role entails various ministry support functions such as accounting, administration, data management, and strategic planning, and adheres to all organizational policies with professionalism. Candidates should engage fully in Young Life's training programs and cultivate personal spiritual maturity to enhance their effectiveness within the role. The successful applicant will demonstrate strong relational skills with youth and adults, exceptional communication abilities, and the capacity to handle confidential and sensitive matters within ministry contexts. The working environment includes engaging with military teens and requires adaptability to physical challenges common within camp settings such as exposure to the elements, long hours, and physical activities.

Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • develop a yearly personal growth plan that fosters a vibrant spiritual life including time for solitude, retreat, reflection, prayer and a sincere commitment to understanding God’s Word
  • meet with your volunteer leaders and area leadership on a regular basis
  • raise financial support as directed and maintain good donor care practices
  • actively engage in all three levels of contact work
  • adhere to all Young Life policies and procedures and maintain professionalism concerning office hours, dress, conduct and time management
  • lead a team to plan and conduct a new or existing Young Life club and Campaigners/discipleship ministry with excellence
  • manage finances with stewardship, accountability and transparency using the mission-wide applications
