We are currently seeking a dedicated and motivated Yard Jockey (non-CDL) to join the US FOODS family. This role is critical within the organization, responsible for moving trailers to and from dock doors based on instructions from supervisors or the shipping office while adhering to all safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements. The Yard Jockey ensures cleanliness and adequate fueling of trailers, maintains equipment readiness, and supports the smooth operation of the warehouse by managing trailer logistics efficiently. This position offers a guaranteed minimum of 40 hours per week, paid training, paid overtime, and opportunities for service recognition and employee rewards. The role operates on a 2nd shift schedule from Sunday to Thursday, 3pm to 11pm, and the expected base salary ranges from $25 to $27 per hour, depending on experience and location.
As a Yard Jockey at US FOODS, you play an integral part in the daily operations, contributing to the team's success through reliability, integrity, and strong collaborative spirit. Your responsibilities include communicating with dispatchers for truck and trailer assignments, staging shuttle trailers, setting up trailers for backhaul, keeping equipment coupled, and working closely with mechanics to ensure all equipment is safe and prepared for the next day. This role is perfect for individuals who are at least 21 years old, possess a valid driver's license, and have a preference or experience in non-CDL commercial driving, including operating manual transmissions where required. The company supports its employees through meaningful compensation and comprehensive benefits designed to promote both personal and professional well-being.
