Job Description
Westward Look Wyndham Grand Resort and Spa is an upscale Southwestern resort set on 80 acres of breathtaking Sonoran Desert landscape near Tucson, Arizona. Established in 1912 and originally designed as a hacienda-style home, the resort marries historic charm with modern luxury to provide an exceptional guest experience. The property features 241 guest rooms, each with private balconies offering stunning desert views, along with on-site dining options, the renowned Sonoran Spa, three swimming pools, hot tubs, and horseback-accessible nature trails. Catering to both leisure travelers and outdoor enthusiasts visiting nearby attractions like Sabino Canyon, Saguaro National Park, and Tucson Mall, Westward Look Wyndham Grand Resort and Spa is committed to delivering warm, high-touch hospitality within a scenic, resort-style environment. This makes it an ideal workplace for those passionate about excellence in service and a collaborative team atmosphere.
The Cook II role at Westward Look Wyndham Grand Resort and Spa is a vital position within the culinary team, responsible for preparing and supervising food across various outlets including the restaurant, café, room service, employee cafeteria, and banquet events. As a culinary craftsman and kitchen leader, the Cook II ensures every dish meets stringent standards of quality, portion control, and presentation, maintaining consistency that delights guests. Beyond food preparation, this role involves leading and assisting kitchen staff in managing efficient kitchen operations, proactively addressing challenges, and ensuring all safety and sanitation protocols are meticulously followed. The Cook II must excel at clear communication, coordinating seamlessly with coworkers and responding thoughtfully to guest needs, all while managing time effectively to deliver prompt and tasty service.
This position is perfect for culinary professionals who thrive in high-pressure environments, bring creativity and passion to their cooking, and are eager to lead with both skill and finesse. The resort offers full-time employment with eligibility for a competitive benefits package after an initial waiting period. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, short-term and long-term disability income, term life and AD&D insurance, paid time off, an employee assistance program, and a 401k retirement plan. Additionally, the resort now offers daily pay options, providing financial flexibility for its team members. If you are ready to elevate your culinary career in a prestigious, resort-style setting with opportunities for growth and recognition, Westward Look Wyndham Grand Resort and Spa invites you to join their team as a Cook II and make a meaningful impact through your culinary talents.
