Job Qualifications
- Committed Christian willing to model servant-leadership
- grounded in the Christian faith as a mature, active member of the body of Christ
- strong interpersonal skills including compassion and discernment
- able and willing to honor leadership, chain of command, and ministry objectives
- computer literate in Word, Excel, Outlook
- excellent written, verbal and instructional communication skills
- teachable spirit with ability to manage multiple emotional and task-related variables
- insightful, trustworthy, honest, reliable with strong work ethic
- valid Washington State driver’s license
- CPR/First Aid certification
- yearly TB clearance
- criminal background check clearance
Job Duties
- Assess and address each child's physical, spiritual, social, emotional and educational needs
- work with moms to assess their child's developmental progress
- provide and coordinate activities designed to support children's developmental progress and encourage spiritual growth
- work with moms and counseling staff to create parenting plans
- teach and model biblical parenting
- provide parenting education opportunities
- plan program including academic, creative and fun components
- ensure each child has on file an assessment of, and plan for addressing their developmental needs
- document developmental progress of each child and review with moms regularly
- plan schedule of activities and present to staff at least 3 months in advance
- ensure moms have a written parenting plan on file if visitations occur with other family members
- train volunteers in Children's Program and provide ongoing support and coaching
- offer parenting seminars and/or classes at least three times per year
- program (parenting) classes are taught by self or other instructor(s) within the Children’s Department each trimester
- plan and implement special activities for holidays and summer events
- supervise Children’s Program Assistant and volunteers to ensure high-quality childcare in a loving, nurturing environment
- model consistent and appropriate discipline practices for staff and volunteers
- recruit, train and equip Associate Staff, High Impact volunteers and staff to plan and implement Children’s Program
- ensure UGM Policies and Procedures are followed in the Children’s Center
- manage Children’s budget for program supplies, outings, and food
- manage Children’s inventory resources including program supplies, donated items, food, and clothing
- train Staff, Associate Staff and volunteers to implement appropriate discipline
- ensure House Facilitator is aware of and addressing maintenance and repair needs
- provide Kitchen Supervisor adequate advance notice of Children’s food needs
- manage Children’s Program financial resources including timely recording of receipts
- regularly communicate with and involve AOH staff regarding children’s status and progress
- develop training manuals for Associate Staff and volunteers
- lead Children’s staff and volunteers in growing in Christ-likeness, holding others accountable, participating in and leading self-evaluations
