Job Description

Wormtown Brewery, a vibrant and community-focused establishment located on Shrewsbury Street in Worcester, is excited to launch a brand-new kitchen program and is actively seeking enthusiastic and skilled Kitchen Operations Cooks to join their team. Part of the Hendler Family Brewing Company, a proudly independent and family-owned business founded in 2011 by the Hendler brothers, Wormtown Brewery embodies a commitment to crafting high-quality products that honor tradition while embracing innovative spirit. The brewery’s mission extends beyond brewing to forging meaningful connections with the community through great beer, delicious food, and a welcoming atmosphere.

Wormtown Brewery’s taproom offers a lively setting where patrons enjoy not only craft beers but also thoughtfully prepared scratch-cooked meals. The Kitchen Operations Cook position is integral to this experience, providing the hands-on expertise necessary to deliver high-quality food that complements the brewery’s offerings. This role suits individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments, take pride in organizing and maintaining kitchen spaces, and appreciate the camaraderie of a close-knit kitchen team.

The position is offered as full-time or part-time, with hourly wages ranging from $18 to $24, depending on experience. Reporting directly to the Kitchen Manager, the Kitchen Operations Cook will play a key role in bringing the new kitchen program to life by ensuring every dish meets Wormtown’s quality and safety standards. Responsibilities include preparing menu items precisely according to recipes, maintaining consistency and speed during service, and upholding rigorous food safety and cleanliness protocols.

Working at Wormtown Brewery offers more than just a job; it presents a chance to be part of a passionate team dedicated to delivering exceptional food and drink experiences in a spirited, inclusive environment. The brewery emphasizes supporting its employees through comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental, and vision insurance starting from day one, 401(k) matching after nine months, paid time off, and ongoing training and development opportunities. Employee discounts, flexible schedules, and wellness resources further enhance work-life balance and job satisfaction.

Ideal candidates will have three to five years of cooking or line experience, a strong ability to communicate and collaborate within a team, and the stamina to thrive in a high-volume kitchen environment. The role also requires availability during nights, weekends, and peak service hours, along with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and manage hot items safely. ServSafe certification or the willingness to obtain it is essential. Reliable transportation to and from the workplace is necessary.

Being part of Wormtown Brewery means contributing to a culture that values tradition, innovation, and diversity. The Hendler Family Brewing Company embraces equal opportunity employment and fosters an inclusive environment where all backgrounds and identities are respected and represented. This role is not just about cooking; it’s about becoming part of a vibrant community where your efforts make a tangible difference in the customer experience and the company’s ongoing success.
