Job Description
Kling Public Media Center (KPMC) is a prominent establishment dedicated to fostering community connections through public media. Situated in downtown St. Paul, MN, KPMC serves as a vibrant hub for employees, artists, guests, donors, vendors, and community partners, delivering a dynamic environment that values inclusivity, collaboration, and exceptional service. It is a place where media production meets community engagement, offering a range of workplace services and event support within a thoughtfully managed facility. The organization prides itself on creating a welcoming atmosphere that promotes creativity, communication, and operational excellence within the public media sector. As part of American Public Media Group (APMG), KPMC benefits from an integrated approach to operations, ensuring seamless coordination between workplace services and facilities management.
The Workplace Concierge plays a critical role as the frontline ambassador and the first point of contact within KPMC, responsible for shaping a warm, polished, and seamless experience for every individual entering the facility. This full-time, on-site role is based at the KPMC location in St. Paul, MN, with standard working hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional evening hours to support events. The compensation for this position ranges between $52,000 and $56,000 annually, determined by experience, education, and internal compensation equity.
In this role, the Workplace Concierge leads front desk hospitality and workplace coordination efforts, supporting meeting readiness, event logistics, visitor management, and daily service needs. Working closely with the Facilities Manager and various internal teams, the concierge ensures that the workplace environment remains functional, welcoming, and organized. This position requires impeccable interpersonal skills and a strong service orientation to deliver excellence in hospitality for employees, visitors, and guests alike. The role also involves tasks such as managing conference room scheduling, maintaining office supplies and pantry essentials, handling mail and package distribution, and providing administrative support to enhance overall employee experience.
Additionally, the Concierge supports internal event coordination by managing catering, room setups, signage, and audiovisual readiness, acting as a vital liaison between staff and hospitality vendors during event days. Collaboration across departments is crucial, as the concierge aligns workplace hospitality initiatives with facilities operations, including building security, maintenance requests, and sustainability programs. Budget management responsibilities include tracking expenditures related to hospitality, event supplies, processing purchase orders, and coordinating with finance departments for invoice approvals and reconciliation.
The ideal candidate for the Workplace Concierge position will have a minimum of three years experience in hospitality, workplace operations, or office administration within a customer-facing environment. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and familiarity with scheduling and visitor management systems are essential. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills are required to navigate the fast-paced and dynamic environment effectively. Candidates with background experience in hospitality management, corporate services, or event coordination in media or nonprofit settings will find this role particularly fitting.
KPMC and APMG are committed to creating an inclusive work environment that respects diversity and ensures equal opportunity employment. The organization provides a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision insurance, paid parental and caregiver leave, vacation, sick time, holiday pay, retirement plans, and more. The Workplace Concierge position presents an exciting opportunity for professionals passionate about delivering outstanding workplace hospitality and contributing to a collaborative, community-focused media organization.
