The Technical Designer position at TriMark USA is a full-time, in-office role based in Omaha, Nebraska, reporting directly to the Woodshop Manager. This role plays a crucial part in the commercial kitchen design process by developing draft layouts, production drawings, and presentation materials essential for project execution. The Technical Designer collaborates closely with architectural and engineering partners in various regions to ensure design projects meet all specifications and client requirements. The position involves modifying architectural drawings to reflect site conditions, creating submittal drawings for customers and production purposes, as well as generating cut lists and shop drawings using CAM software. This role demands strong conceptual and client-focused skills, excellent organizational abilities to manage tight deadlines and budgets, and superior technical talent in layout design. The Technical Designer assists in coordinating design elements across cross-functional teams, maintaining project documentation, and contributing to overall project success by adhering to best practices. Candidates must have a minimum of 1-2 years of professional experience in a CAD environment, preferably with exposure to woodworking industry software such as Microvellum, along with proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and other relevant tools. Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a professional CAD environment
  • Preferred previous experience in the woodworking industry and Microvellum software
  • Proficiency in advanced computer skills including AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check post offer acceptance

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a professional CAD environment or equivalent military or practical experience
  • Preferred previous experience in the woodworking industry and Microvellum software
  • Proficiency in advanced computer skills, including software such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience with Revit, Navisworks Manage, BIM360, Smartsheet, AutoQuotes, KCL helpful
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check post offer acceptance

Job Duties

  • Create submittal drawings for customers and production needs
  • Modify architectural drawings to match on site conditions and ensure proper layout of equipment and millwork
  • Create cut lists and shop drawings using CAM software
  • Contribute to the creation of design drawings, specifications, and other technical documents necessary for project execution
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure that design documentation aligns with project requirements and standards
  • Assist in the coordination of design elements with cross-functional teams, including architectural and engineering partners
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining project files and folders, ensuring efficient data management for easy retrieval and reference
