The role of Market Manager at Badger State Brewing is a builder position critical to expanding the companys footprint in the territory. This individual will work closely with distributor partners, key accounts, and internal teams to promote the brand and increase sales. The Market Manager is responsible for customer and solution-based selling through partnerships with distributors and retailers, developing annual distributor business plans, and actively supporting the execution of marketing initiatives at the local level. They will analyze market data to identify business opportunities, manage in-market account development, and collaborate on merchandising and promotional strategies to ensure maximum product visibility and sales performance.

A key component of the role is building and maintaining strong relationships with distributors and retail partners to drive growth across on-premise and off-premise channels. The Market Manager will oversee the training and development of distributor personnel, ensuring they are equipped to effectively represent Badger State Brewing products. This position requires frequent in-market engagements to identify retail execution opportunities and sell through the product to consumers. The role is remote-based with travel required primarily within the assigned geographic footprint, and occasional travel for industry events.

The company offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 to $100,000 per year, including incentive-based commission, mileage, and travel expense reimbursement. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience
  • Minimum of 3 years in beverage, beer, distributor, supplier, or CPG sales
  • Proven track record of driving sales growth
  • Ability to learn and use internal and external data systems
  • Remote-based role with travel required within the territory and occasional industry event attendance
  • Positive attitude and team player mentality
  • Well-rounded knowledge of beer styles
  • Valid WI driver’s license

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience in the beverage industry
  • Proven record of driving sales growth
  • Technical capability or learning capacity across various internal and external data sources to identify business opportunities and generate insights
  • Well-rounded knowledge of beer styles
  • Enthusiasm and self-starter nature essential

Job Duties

  • Drive customer and solution-based selling with distributors
  • Direct and collaborate with assigned distributors on development of the annual distributor business plan
  • Bring Badger State Beverage marketing to life in the local market in partnership with distributors
  • Accountable for the analysis, segmentation and development of target account lists for Badger State Beer distribution and display
  • Accountable for execution of chain and independent distribution, feature and display within the market to drive volume performance across your assigned distributors
  • Regular in-market work-withs to identify retail execution opportunities
  • Actively develop and manage distributor personnel including Sales Managers, Operations Management and Sales Reps
  • effectively train Badger State and Distributor reps to sell Badger State Beer
  • Work with the key customers in trade developing and building brand presence and sales in assigned channels and geography by meeting with each distributor to set targets for distribution (on- and off-premise), volume objectives, financial commitments, and merchandising targets
  • Build and maintain relationships with distributors and retail partners
  • Selling new and existing brands in both on-premise and off-premise accounts
  • Calling in orders to distributors and following up to make sure beer is delivered
  • Increase shelf space and position in off-premise accounts
  • Assist in maintaining freshness standards for packaged products
