This seasonal hiring opportunity is for Restaurant Cooks and Employee Dining Room Cooks at the Old Faithful Snow Lodge and Mammoth Hot Springs within Yellowstone National Park. The winter season here is considered a "secret season," characterized by magical snowy scenery, reduced crowds, and numerous unique outdoor activities such as skiing and snowshoeing. The Cook role involves assisting the Chef and Sous Chef in all basic food preparation and cooking functions across various food service operations, including ala carte, quick service, and employee dining. This is a seasonal position running from late October 2026 through early March 2027, with an hourly wage ranging between $19.00 and $22.50. The typical work schedule averages 40 or more hours per week across five days, which may include weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Job Requirements

Must be able to stand for long periods of time, approximately 8 hours

Job Qualifications

2 years experience in a cook position needed for senior level cook position
6 months to 1 year cook experience needed for quick service cook position
Perform all duties toward the goal of providing excellent guest service in an efficient manner
Follow all policy, procedures and service standards
Responsible for prep, set-up, service, clean up, and restocking of cooks line and appropriate prep areas
Adhere to all sanitation requirements including product rotation, temperature maintenance and record keeping, storage procedures, cooking requirements, and handling techniques
Ability to work from prep and par lists and follow standardized recipes
Commit food specifications to memory
Develop and maintain positive communication and teamwork with all co-workers and supervisors
Work quickly, efficiently, and safely with all kitchen equipment
Organize and prioritize under pressure while maintaining a pleasant demeanor
