Job Description
The hiring establishment is a dynamic restaurant that prioritizes delivering exceptional service, maintaining a clean environment, and ensuring the highest quality food to satisfy every guest. This restaurant is committed to creating a welcoming atmosphere where guests feel valued and experience outstanding hospitality with every visit. As part of a broader market presence, the restaurant continually adapts to evolving business needs and aims to foster a culture that upholds core values centered on guest satisfaction and team collaboration. The company maintains strong operational goals, leveraging tools such as the "Ops Scorecard" to monitor and enhance service quality, food safety, and cleanliness while driving overall guest experience improvements. The employment type for this role is full-time, generally capped at 40 hours per week unless extra hours are approved by management.
The role of the Restaurant Supervisor I is fundamental in supporting the General Manager and Restaurant Supervisor II in all aspects of the daily restaurant operations. This supervisory position acts as the direct representative of leadership when higher management is absent. The Restaurant Supervisor I is accountable for maximizing the restaurant's culture and delivering an outstanding guest experience during their shift. This includes ensuring compliance with company and government policies and communicating any relevant policy updates to their team. The supervisor is instrumental in maintaining operational excellence across various fronts such as customer service, food quality, team member training, and safety standards.
Specifically, the Restaurant Supervisor I works towards achieving team and company goals by supporting all operational areas and assisting wherever necessary. A strong focus is placed on maintaining high standards reflected in the Ops Scorecard metrics, including guest dissatisfaction rates, order accuracy, customer satisfaction surveys, and quality standards compliance. Responsiveness to customer issues is critical, with a requirement to address all customer feedback within 24 hours, particularly those received during their shift.
This supervisory role encompasses staff management responsibilities such as ensuring team members adhere to company policies, maintaining uniform standards, promoting positive engagement and retention, and conducting training for new hires. Additionally, the supervisor oversees cash handling and cash management during the shift, ensuring adherence to financial protocols such as monitoring paid outs, voids, and refunds.
Operational responsibilities extend to driving sales performance, managing labor and food costs, overseeing employee meal usage, and ensuring the restaurant is adequately staffed. The supervisor leads pre-shift team meetings, completes necessary administrative tasks such as Zenput forms, and ensures the restaurant’s environment remains safe and clean, including monitoring food safety records and managing repairs and pest control issues.
The position demands professionalism at all times, strong problem-solving skills, the capacity to expedite operations when working solo, and physical stamina to handle tasks such as lifting boxes weighing up to 50 pounds. Flexibility in restaurant location within the designated market is expected based on business requirements. This role is pivotal to the restaurant’s success in delivering superior guest experiences while maintaining regulatory compliance and fostering a positive workplace culture.
