As a highly esteemed restaurant, Water Grill offers an exceptional dining environment where guests can experience exquisite seafood dishes complemented by an extensive wine selection. The establishment is committed to maintaining a welcoming and productive atmosphere through a strong company culture that values teamwork, professionalism, and continuous growth opportunities for its employees.
The current opening at Water Grill is for the position of Wine Steward. This role is pivotal in enriching the guest experience by providing expert guidance through the restaurant's wine offerings. The Wine Steward is responsible for pairing wines with food selections, ensuring the highest level of service, and driving sales through suggestive selling techniques. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of wines, possess excellent communication skills, and demonstrate the ability to create memorable wine experiences for guests.
As a Wine Steward at Water Grill, you will be engaged in all phases of guest service from greeting and order-taking to confirming the wine order and serving it with precision—this includes decanting when appropriate. You will actively maintain the wine inventory, contribute to the evolution of the wine list, and uphold stringent wine service standards. The role demands a detail-oriented individual who can uphold the physical organization of wine storage and maintain an up-to-date "Wine Bible" documenting all current and past wines offered.
Employees at Water Grill enjoy a variety of premium benefits, a flexible working schedule, and numerous opportunities for professional development, including educational reimbursement and promotion from within. The restaurant fosters a positive, dynamic workplace where employees can thrive while delivering exceptional dining experiences. Compensation for this position includes a competitive hourly rate of $16.50 plus commission on wine bottle sales, reflecting the importance of the Wine Steward role in boosting overall restaurant revenue.
