Job Description

RPM Italian is a distinguished restaurant that boasts modern Italian cuisine served in an elegant yet urban atmosphere. Founded by Bill and Giuliana Rancic along with RJ, Jerrod, and Molly Melman, RPM Italian prides itself on a menu that perfectly blends sophistication with simplicity, offering dishes such as freshly prepared in-house pastas alongside whole wood-grilled seafood like Branzino. The restaurant’s focus on carefully crafted and versatile interpretations of classic Italian dishes makes it a notable destination for food lovers seeking both authenticity and innovation in their dining experience.

As a part of the Lettuce Entertain You team, RPM Italian is one of over 100 nationally recognized restaurants celebrated for excellence in food, service, and workplace culture. The company is deeply committed to hiring passionate individuals who are creative, driven, and eager to excel. Employees at RPM Italian and across the Lettuce Entertain You network benefit from comprehensive training, career development opportunities, and a supportive environment that values mental health and well-being.

The Sommelier position at RPM Italian is a vital role dedicated to enhancing guests' dining experiences through expert wine service and knowledge. Sommeliers are wine stewards responsible for the selling and serving of bottled wine, ensuring the wine offerings complement the menu while elevating the overall customer satisfaction. This role requires a current Sommelier certification, demonstrating a high level of expertise and professionalism.

Sommeliers at RPM Italian take on multiple responsibilities, including ordering and selling wine, developing the wine menu in collaboration with the team, and maintaining professional relationships with wine suppliers. The role demands excellent communication skills for providing wine education and training to staff, conducting wine tastings, and assisting with guest interactions in a courteous and effective manner. Sommeliers must handle logistical tasks such as organizing, restocking, and securing wine inventories, while adhering to safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness policies.

The position demands physical endurance and the ability to work in a dynamic, busy environment, requiring the Sommelier to stand and move throughout the restaurant during shifts which can include weekends and varying hours. Attention to detail, multitasking abilities, and a commitment to guest satisfaction are essential attributes for success in this role. Working at RPM Italian offers an opportunity to join a progressive company that values its people, promotes workplace wellness, and offers competitive benefits including medical, dental, vision insurance, paid vacation, and employee assistance programs focused on mental health.

Overall, this Sommelier opportunity at RPM Italian is perfect for someone who is passionate about wine, dedicated to outstanding service, and looking to grow within a supportive and prestigious restaurant company. Join a caring, creative team that not only celebrates culinary excellence but also supports professional and personal development with a suite of benefits designed to foster a balanced and rewarding career.
