TEKsystems is a leading provider of business and technology services, specializing in accelerating business transformation for clients across diverse industries. With a strong presence spanning North America, Europe, and Asia, TEKsystems partners with more than 6,000 clients, including 80% of the Fortune 500. The company employs a highly skilled workforce of approximately 80,000 professionals who are dedicated to delivering innovative, full-stack technology solutions and real-world application expertise. As part of the Allegis Group, TEKsystems is widely recognized for its commitment to fostering strategic partnerships, driving change, and providing exceptional talent services. The company operates with a focus on inclusivity and equal opportunity, ensuring a supportive and diverse workplace where every employee’s unique background is valued.
The role available is for a Windows Server Engineer based in Charlotte, NC, with a hybrid onsite work requirement of three days per week. This is an 18-month contract position with a strong likelihood of conversion to a full-time employee (FTE). The compensation is set at $70.24 per hour, and applicants must be willing to work directly on a W2 basis, with no acceptance of C2C engagements. The Windows Server Engineer will play a pivotal role in developing a next-generation, highly automated server-build environment. The focus will be on leveraging HashiCorp Packer alongside continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline and automate image creation and deployment processes. As a senior engineer, this position demands advanced expertise with Windows Server operating systems, particularly with current enterprise versions, as well as strong skills in PowerShell scripting, Ansible-driven configuration management, and a solid understanding of VMware infrastructure.
The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in developing and maintaining automation tools that improve operational efficiency and reliability. They will collaborate closely with distributed teams to gather requirements, design new service offerings, and ensure thorough testing and documentation of solutions. Additionally, this role requires comfort working within Agile and DevOps environments, utilizing tools such as GitHub or Bitbucket for version control, Jenkins for pipeline automation, and project tracking systems like JIRA. The Windows Server Engineer will drive technical innovation and support server lifecycle management, including patching and operating system engineering tasks, ensuring the infrastructure remains resilient, secure, and performant.
Candidates joining TEKsystems for this role can expect a dynamic and supportive work environment with access to a range of benefits, contingent on job classification and tenure. The benefits package potentially includes comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans, critical illness and accident coverage, a 401(k) retirement plan with pre-tax and Roth post-tax contributions, and life insurance options. Additional benefits such as short and long-term disability coverage, health spending accounts, transportation benefits, an employee assistance program, and paid time off encourage a healthy work-life balance.
TEKsystems values diversity and equal employment opportunity, embracing an inclusive recruitment process without regard to race, sex, age, color, religion, national origin, veteran status, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, or genetic information. This role offers a significant opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge technology advancements within a globally recognized organization that champions innovation, continuous improvement, and employee growth.
