Job Description

MISTRAS Group, Inc. is a global leader in providing technology-enabled asset protection solutions that improve safety, reliability, and efficiency for various industries, including energy, manufacturing, aerospace, and infrastructure. The company specializes in non-destructive testing, inspection, and condition monitoring services designed to help clients maintain and extend the life of their critical assets. With a commitment to innovation, safety, and quality, MISTRAS delivers comprehensive solutions that combine advanced technologies and highly trained personnel. The company is dedicated to creating a work environment that fosters teamwork, integrity, and continuous improvement.

The Platform Technician role at MISTRAS Group, Inc. is an entry-level to level 1 position, offering an hourly pay range of $28 to $32. Working under the supervision of a Team Leader and guided by a written Safe Work Plan (also known as a Job Hazard Analysis), the Platform Technician is responsible for performing complex composite repairs on wind turbine blades. This position involves a wide variety of inspection, maintenance, and upgrade services carried out in challenging field environments. The technician typically uses blade access platforms or specialized equipment such as the "Bronto Skylift" to perform work at considerable heights. The job demands a high degree of safety awareness, technical capability, and the ability to function effectively in team settings. The role also requires participation in rescue operations, administrative tasks, and customer support activities.

This position has a dynamic nature concerning work hours, locations, and shifts, which are not fixed and can vary greatly. Extensive travel is a critical part of the job, with time away from home sometimes extending over several weeks. Due to the physical demands and environmental challenges such as working at heights and in varied weather conditions, the Platform Technician must demonstrate resilience, physical fitness, and a strong commitment to safety protocols. The role is vital in ensuring that MISTRAS provides exemplary service that reflects the company's dedication to quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. This career opportunity is ideal for individuals seeking a challenging, hands-on role in the renewable energy sector with a focus on wind turbine maintenance and repair, offering opportunities for growth and development within a supportive and safety-focused company.
