Job Description
Women, Infants & Children (WIC) is a trusted community program dedicated to supporting families through nutrition education, breastfeeding support, healthy foods, and access to healthcare and community resources. This program is specifically designed to assist pregnant individuals, new parents, infants, and young children, making a lasting difference in the lives of local families by promoting health and well-being from the earliest stages of life. WIC is well-known for providing compassionate support and improving family health outcomes by connecting participants to essential services and resources.
N.E.W. Community Clinic (NEWCC) is a nonprofit organization committed to delivering high-quality healthcare that honors the dignity of every individual it serves. Serving the Green Bay area, NEWCC operates multiple clinics including three dental clinics, two medical clinics, one WIC location, and two behavioral health centers. This extensive network allows NEWCC to provide comprehensive care regardless of a patient’s ability to pay. At NEWCC, every interaction is meaningful, and the organization is deeply committed to fostering a welcoming and respectful environment for all patients.
The WIC Medical Receptionist at NEWCC plays a critical role as the welcoming face and first contact point for families entering the clinic. This full-time position (36+ hours per week) requires an empathetic, organized, and experienced individual who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare setting. As a receptionist, you will set the tone for patient experience by ensuring a compassionate and supportive atmosphere for every person who walks through the door.
Working at NEWCC is more than a conventional job; it is an opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven team that values diversity and accessibility. Employees often engage with a richly diverse patient base, encountering multiple languages and cultures, and gain meaningful exposure to community outreach programs that extend healthcare services beyond the clinic walls. This role also offers personal and professional growth opportunities, including participating in outreach efforts that promote health equity and support vulnerable populations.
The responsibilities of the WIC Medical Receptionist include managing clinic intake processes, assisting with breastfeeding promotion, translating for staff as needed, activating and distributing eWIC cards, and ensuring compliance with federal regulations. You will perform clerical duties such as scheduling appointments, entering client data into the ROSIE software system, preparing reports, and maintaining effective communication with patients about appointments and benefits. The role requires excellent organizational skills and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service to ensure families feel welcomed and supported from the moment they arrive.
At NEWCC, teamwork and mutual support are highly valued, fostering a positive and enjoyable work environment. The organization’s dedication to equal employment opportunities and nondiscriminatory hiring practices is fundamental to its culture. If you are someone who believes in accessible healthcare and enjoys working in a collaborative, service-oriented team, this role offers the chance to make a powerful impact on community health every day.
