Job Requirements

  • minimum 2-3 years of culinary experience including supervisory experience
  • culinary degree or equivalent professional training preferred
  • knowledge of dietary restrictions and nutritional requirements common in long-term care
  • strong understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • excellent communication skills
  • leadership skills
  • ability to work flexible schedule including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • minimum 2-3 years of culinary experience with at least 1 year in a supervisory or Sous Chef role
  • culinary degree or equivalent professional training preferred
  • knowledge of dietary restrictions and nutritional requirements common in long-term care such as low-sodium diabetic and pureed diets
  • strong understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations ServSafe certification preferred
  • excellent communication leadership and organizational skills
  • ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays as needed

Job Duties

  • assist the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations including meal preparation cooking and plating for breakfast lunch and dinner services
  • ensure all food is prepared according to established recipes dietary restrictions and safety standards
  • supervise and train kitchen staff fostering a positive and efficient work environment
  • maintain inventory assist with ordering and manage food costs effectively
  • uphold the highest standards of cleanliness sanitation and organization in the kitchen
  • contribute to menu planning ensuring variety nutritional balance and resident satisfaction
