Job Requirements
- minimum 2-3 years of culinary experience including supervisory experience
- culinary degree or equivalent professional training preferred
- knowledge of dietary restrictions and nutritional requirements common in long-term care
- strong understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations
- excellent communication skills
- leadership skills
- ability to work flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- minimum 2-3 years of culinary experience with at least 1 year in a supervisory or Sous Chef role
- culinary degree or equivalent professional training preferred
- knowledge of dietary restrictions and nutritional requirements common in long-term care such as low-sodium diabetic and pureed diets
- strong understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations ServSafe certification preferred
- excellent communication leadership and organizational skills
- ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays as needed
Job Duties
- assist the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations including meal preparation cooking and plating for breakfast lunch and dinner services
- ensure all food is prepared according to established recipes dietary restrictions and safety standards
- supervise and train kitchen staff fostering a positive and efficient work environment
- maintain inventory assist with ordering and manage food costs effectively
- uphold the highest standards of cleanliness sanitation and organization in the kitchen
- contribute to menu planning ensuring variety nutritional balance and resident satisfaction
