Westin Boston Waterfront is a prominent hotel located in Boston's vibrant Seaport District, renowned for its innovative design and commitment to guest comfort. The property features unique amenities such as a vertical garden that naturally purifies the air, creating an inviting and relaxing atmosphere for guests and staff alike. Its prime location places it within walking distance of cultural landmarks like the Institute Of Contemporary Art, the Boston Convention Exhibitors Center, and the Boston Children's Museum, making it a sought-after destination for both business and leisure travelers. The hotel’s guestrooms are equipped with modern conveniences including flat-screen TVs, coffee makers with Starbucks Coffee, and plush bathrobes, ensuring a restful and luxurious stay. Guests can enjoy a delicious buffet breakfast at the on-site Sauciety restaurant, adding to the overall exceptional hospitality experience.
The Banquets Supervisor role at Westin Boston Waterfront is a pivotal position responsible for the smooth execution of all banquet events hosted at the hotel. This full-time supervisory position requires a dynamic individual who can manage and coordinate every aspect of banquet functions to create memorable and flawless experiences for guests. The Banquets Supervisor acts as the event mastermind, overseeing setup, service, and breakdown while maintaining high standards of safety and customer service in alignment with Aimbridge Hospitality's guidelines.
Key responsibilities include greeting guests and staff with a warm and service-oriented demeanor, ensuring attendance reliability to keep up with the fast-paced event schedule, maintaining impeccable personal appearance to represent the brand professionally, and championing safety and operational standards throughout banquet functions. The supervisor also leads by example in the setup and breakdown of event spaces, ensuring all arrangements meet the specifications outlined in the Banquet Event Order and that every detail is attended to thoroughly.
Candidates for this role are expected to have a minimum of one year of progressive experience in the hotel or related hospitality industry, ideally with some supervisory experience complemented by a high school diploma or equivalent. Strong communication skills are essential to effectively engage with guests and team members, address concerns, and facilitate smooth operations. Proficiency with standard computer programs, including spreadsheets and word processing, is also required to manage event documentation and operational reporting.
The ability to perform well under pressure, solve problems efficiently, and maintain professionalism even in high-stress environments is critical for success in this role. Additionally, familiarity with financial data handling and basic arithmetic ensures the supervisor can support operational needs effectively. The position offers a competitive benefits package after an initial waiting period, including medical, dental, vision coverage, paid time off, and a 401k retirement plan. The hotel also now offers daily pay options, enhancing flexibility and financial accessibility for employees.
By joining the Westin Boston Waterfront team as a Banquets Supervisor, individuals become integral members of a renowned hospitality establishment dedicated to excellence and guest satisfaction. This role offers an enriching career opportunity to lead a talented banquet team in delivering outstanding service and to contribute to the hotel's reputation as a premier event destination in Boston.
