The role at Flanigan's involves working closely with a team to maintain table appearance, efficiently manage food and drink orders, and support overall restaurant operations. Employees in this position must have a thorough knowledge of the food and beverage menus, including current promotions and specials. This role requires excellent communication skills, as team members are expected to clearly and accurately answer guests' questions in a courteous and informative manner. Responsibilities include entering orders accurately into the POS system, ensuring timely retrieval and delivery of food and beverages, and efficiently handling payments whether through credit cards, cash, or gift cards. Furthermore, employees are responsible for performing shift changes, opening and closing duties, as well as completing assigned side work to maintain smooth operations throughout the day.

The position also involves direct guest interaction at the curbside pickup area, where greeting guests warmly and efficiently packing ToGo orders is essential. Working at Flanigan's demands the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment, with physical requirements including standing and walking throughout the entire shift, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds when clearing tables or delivering plates. The role requires compliance with both company policies and Florida state laws, including passing the Florida Responsible Vendor program and food safety certification. Flexibility in working hours is necessary to meet the varying demands of the restaurant's schedule.

Job Qualifications

  • Can physically stand/walk 100% of shift
  • can reach, bend, stoop frequently
  • able to deliver plates, and clear tables of plates and glasses, which may require lifting up to 50 lbs
  • ability to speak, read and write English
  • ability to read and write handwritten guest checks, notes, etc
  • complete and pass Florida Responsible Vendor program, in compliance with Flanigan's and Florida statutes
  • complete and pass food safety certification program, in compliance with Flanigan's and Florida statutes
  • ability to work flexible hours
  • work in a fast paced environment

Job Duties

  • Follows all company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training
  • support fellow employees in maintaining table appearance, food/drink running, etc. as needed
  • be knowledgeable regarding Food & Beverage menus and items, current food and/or drink promotions and specials, and answer guests' questions verbally and clearly
  • accurately enter orders into POS system
  • retrieve food or drink orders from kitchen or bar area, and deliver them to guests in a timely manner
  • collect guests' payments (credit cards, cash, or gift cards only), ensure transactions are correct using POS efficiently, calculate and deliver correct change to guests in a timely manner
  • perform shift changes, opening/closing duties, assigned sidework
  • pack and verify all ToGo orders with guest
  • greet guests at the curbside pickup area
