Marshalls, operating under the TJX Companies umbrella, is currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician for the USA Marshalls 3PL (West) 660 Compton Campus. This full-time role involves responsibility for the upkeep and repair of equipment, building, and grounds within the facility. The role is dynamic and operationally critical, ensuring that all material handling equipment, electrical systems, HVAC units, conveyors, powered industrial equipment, and life safety devices are maintained to the highest standards. Starting salary ranges from $61,000 to $82,100 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

The Facilities Maintenance Technician will oversee maintenance work, manage site projects, and coordinate with local contractors and vendors to ensure compliance and timely repair services. This position demands a high level of technical expertise and subject-matter knowledge in material handling equipment and facility systems. The technician also collaborates closely with operational leaders to align maintenance priorities with production goals, contributing directly to safe and efficient facility operations.

Additional responsibilities include conducting routine inspections of all assigned facilities to identify repair needs, deferred maintenance, and safety hazards. This proactive approach to facility management is essential to supporting a safe working environment and maintaining operational readiness. The technician will also serve as the primary facility liaison to third-party logistics (3PL) leadership teams, fostering strong partnerships to uphold safety standards and regulatory compliance.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of facilities maintenance experience
  • Proficiency in electrical, HVAC, conveyor, and industrial equipment maintenance
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with contractors and internal teams
  • Strong attention to safety and regulatory compliance
  • Good communication skills
  • Must be able to perform routine building inspections and maintenance tasks

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Oversee all work and demonstrate subject matter expert levels of knowledge on all material handling equipment in the building
  • Manage site projects as needed
  • Align priorities and workload scheduling with operational leaders to support production goals
  • Coordinate with local contractors/vendors for equipment services as required and ensure contract compliance
  • Coordinate daily maintenance, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance of equipment
  • Obtain services for repairs and maintenance of the facility’s equipment
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of reports and recordkeeping requirements
  • Ensure all vendor work is completed, at budget, and verified prior to approval or sign-off
  • Understand and drive budget requirements
  • Conduct routine building walks to proactively identify repair needs, deferred maintenance, and safety concerns
  • Assess interior and exterior building conditions, dock equipment, HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical infrastructure, racking, life safety systems, and exterior conditions
  • Prioritize repair work based on operational impact and safety risk
  • Develop repair plans and escalate significant structural or capital concerns to the Facilities Manager
  • Maintain a rolling log of facility deficiencies and corrective action plans
  • Serve as the primary facilities liaison to the 3PL leadership team
  • Partner with TJX and 3PL operations to maintain safe working conditions and ensure building and regulatory compliance
  • Identify, address, and resolve safety-related building issues
  • Participate in routine safety walks and collaborate with stakeholders to implement corrective actions
  • Support OSHA compliance, fire/life safety standards, and applicable local codes
  • Promote a culture of shared ownership and accountability for building safety, upkeep, and overall appearance
