This full-time role carries a starting pay of $14.00 per hour and offers employees numerous benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as paid time off and a 401(k) plan with matching contributions. The Shift Manager position is central to the daily operations of the restaurant, carrying significant responsibility for ensuring smooth workflow and delivering a top-tier customer experience.
As a Shift Manager at Wendy's, you will be responsible for managing various aspects of restaurant operations, coaching and leading team members, and supporting the General Manager to maximize the restaurant's efficiency and profitability. You will have opportunities to specialize and expand your leadership capabilities through certifications in areas such as Open/Close procedures, Kitchen management, and Customer Service. In the Open/Close role, the Shift Manager supervises opening and closing tasks to uphold cleanliness, food safety, and timely preparation. In the Kitchen role, the focus is on maintaining high-quality food production and compliance with all safety standards. The Customer Service role centers on fostering a customer-focused culture that delights every guest.
Your daily responsibilities will include training crew members, monitoring operational procedures, managing cash handling duties, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and resolving customer concerns. Leadership qualities such as effective communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, and conflict resolution are essential. You will also play a key part in upholding company values which emphasize being guest-ready, honoring team members, maintaining cleanliness and convenience, promoting ownership, and fostering a team-focused environment.
This position requires the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and composure. Shift Managers must be available to work various shifts and days, and may be required to work across multiple restaurant locations as needed. Physical demands include standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working under diverse environmental conditions such as heat, cold, and potential exposure to cleaning chemicals. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and possess or be able to obtain ServSafe certification.
Overall, this role offers a rewarding opportunity to develop your management skills within a leading restaurant brand that values leadership, teamwork, and operational excellence. By joining Wendy's as a Shift Manager, you become an integral part of a team dedicated to creating exceptional dining experiences while advancing your personal and professional growth.
