Job Description
Wendy's is a globally recognized fast-food restaurant chain known for its quality menu offerings, exceptional customer service, and commitment to a positive work environment. Established with a strong foundation in delivering fresh and delicious food, Wendy's has become a leader in the quick-service restaurant industry, operating thousands of locations worldwide. The company values integrity, loyalty, teamwork, and excellence in service, creating a workplace culture that fosters growth, respect, and inclusivity among its employees. Wendy's invests in comprehensive training systems and management development programs such as WKS+ and WeLearn, designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of team members and managers alike, promoting career advancement and operational excellence across all its franchises and company-owned restaurants.
The Assistant Manager role at Wendy's is an essential leadership position that serves as a critical stepping stone toward the responsibilities of a General Manager. This role supports the General Manager by overseeing daily restaurant operations to ensure smooth functioning, customer satisfaction, and adherence to food safety standards. The Assistant Manager is key in fostering a clean, safe, and positive work environment and sustaining high standards of customer service aligned with Wendy’s core values of integrity, loyalty, winning, service, and teamwork.
In partnership with the General Manager, the Assistant Manager plays a dynamic role in team management, including hiring, training, and motivating staff to perform at their best. They ensure compliance with the company's policies on workplace conduct and grooming standards and promptly address any claims of harassment or discrimination by collaborating with human resources and district leaders. Operational responsibilities include managing scheduling, food ordering, inventory control, and security protocols, while conducting regular internal self-assessments using company tools like TrueView to maintain compliance with health department and Wendy’s food safety audits.
The position requires hands-on involvement with the team, including covering workstations during breaks and ensuring that all customer service metrics—friendliness, accuracy, cleanliness, speed, and taste—are consistently met or exceeded. The Assistant Manager is also accountable for supporting financial management targets, including sales and profitability goals, and performing cash handling duties with accuracy and accountability using smart safe and POS systems.
Physically, this role demands the ability to perform various activities such as lifting, bending, standing, and walking for extended periods in both indoor and outdoor environments, sometimes including driving to different locations for meetings or training. Flexibility in schedule, with availability to work weekends and holidays, coupled with reliable transportation, is essential.
Wendy’s Assistant Manager position offers a competitive pay range between $20.00 and $26.00 per hour, reflecting factors such as experience, education, location, and business volume. This makes it a highly attractive opportunity for individuals seeking to build a rewarding career in the restaurant management sector, with the potential to grow into higher leadership roles. The company’s focus on training, development, and a supportive culture ensures that assistant managers gain the skills and experience necessary to excel and succeed within one of the most respected brands in the fast-food industry.
