Job Description
Wendy's is a global quick-service restaurant chain known for its quality food, exceptional customer service, and vibrant work culture. As a leading brand in the fast-food industry, Wendy's offers a wide variety of menu options, including fresh, never frozen beef, salads, sandwiches, and beverages. Founded with a commitment to quality and innovation, Wendy's continues to set the standard for fast-casual dining with its focus on customer satisfaction and operational excellence. This position is within the WKS Restaurant Group, a company that manages Wendy's franchises and upholds the brand's standards with great dedication and professionalism. WKS Restaurant Group fosters a supportive and growth-oriented work environment where employees are encouraged to develop their skills and advance their careers.
The Assistant Manager role at Wendy's under WKS Restaurant Group is designed to support the General Manager in ensuring smooth daily operations and customer satisfaction at the restaurant. With a pay range of $20.00 to $26.00 per hour, this salaried position offers the opportunity for earnings that vary based on experience, education, restaurant brand, geographic location, hours worked, and potential overtime pay. The Assistant Manager plays a key role in maintaining food safety standards, promoting a clean and safe work environment, and developing team members to meet operational goals. This role represents a critical step in preparing individuals for General Manager responsibilities and overall leadership within the company.
Key responsibilities include leadership duties such as assisting with hiring, training, and motivating staff, conducting onboarding and orientation sessions, and upholding the company's core values of Integrity, Loyalty, Winning, Service, and Teamwork. The Assistant Manager also acts as the General Manager's representative in meetings and promotional activities when necessary, enforcing workplace policies and standards regarding grooming, uniforms, and conduct. Timely reporting of workplace issues such as harassment, discrimination, or wage violations is also an essential function to maintain a positive work environment.
In operations management, the Assistant Manager supports food ordering, scheduling, inventory control, and ensures compliance with restaurant opening and closing procedures. The role demands meticulous attention to health and safety standards, performing daily walk-throughs, self-assessments, and preparing for health inspections and internal audits. Financial management duties include assisting with cash handling, point of sale systems, safe audits, and managing company funds responsibly.
The position requires physical activity including reaching, lifting (up to 20 pounds regularly and 75 pounds with assistance), bending, standing, and walking for extended periods. It also requires communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members. Employees must be able to work in various indoor and outdoor environments and comply with safety protocols when handling cleaning chemicals or food safety procedures.
Overall, this role is ideal for individuals seeking to advance their careers in the restaurant industry by gaining hands-on management experience in a dynamic and fast-paced setting. The Assistant Manager position at Wendy's offers a supportive environment for professional growth, a competitive wage, and the chance to contribute meaningfully to a well-respected and widely recognized brand.
