Job Description

Advocate Health is a prominent and expansive nonprofit integrated health system in the United States, recognized as the third-largest in its sector. Established through the merger of Advocate Aurora Health and Atrium Health, Advocate Health delivers comprehensive healthcare services across several states. Operating under different names—Advocate Health Care in Illinois, Atrium Health in the Carolinas, Georgia, and Alabama, and Aurora Health Care in Wisconsin—this organization stands at the forefront of clinical innovation, health outcomes, consumer experience, and value-based care. Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, Advocate Health serves nearly 6 million patients and actively participates in hundreds of clinical trials and research endeavors. It is nationally acclaimed for specialized expertise in cardiology, neurosciences, oncology, pediatrics, rehabilitation, organ transplants, burn treatments, and musculoskeletal programs. With a workforce of 155,000 teammates across 69 hospitals and over 1,000 care locations, Advocate Health also boasts one of the largest graduate medical education programs in the nation, which includes more than 2,000 residents and fellows in over 200 training programs. The organization is deeply committed to equity and community welfare, contributing over $6 billion annually in community benefits.

The role of Concierge Lead at Advocate Health's Lukes Medical Center, located at 11624 Aurora St, falls under the Concierge Service department. This is a full-time position with benefits eligibility, offering a 40-hour work week predominantly during the first shift from 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM, with some variability depending on department needs. The department operates from 5:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Compensation for this role ranges from $18.85 to $29.70 per hour, reflecting factors such as qualifications, skills, and experience.

In this leadership role, the Concierge Lead is primarily responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the concierge team, leading by example to ensure excellent, personalized customer service at the main points of entry to the medical center. The incumbent serves as a key resource for customers coming to and leaving the facility, managing first impressions with a warm and professional approach. The role demands training and orienting new concierge staff, providing work direction, and collaborating with management to uphold policies and procedures. With responsibilities extending to handling department keys and pass cards, the Concierge Lead ensures the security and smooth operational flow of entrance areas.

Moreover, the position requires active engagement in assisting customers with transportation logistics such as taxi vouchers, bus passes, van transport, and parking arrangements including valet and visitor services. It also involves safety reporting to the Public Safety Department and maintaining cleanliness and safety of the workspace. Physical demands include standing, walking, and exposure to outdoor weather conditions, supported by an Aurora branded winter coat and gear. Candidates should demonstrate leadership skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work independently on a flexible schedule. Experience in a hospital or large public facility as a concierge or greeter is preferred, alongside face-to-face customer service capabilities and proficiency with tools like Epic. This role is ideal for someone passionate about serving diverse populations, solving problems proactively, and enhancing the visitor experience at a major health care institution.
