Job Description
Aurora Health Care is a prominent healthcare provider known for its commitment to delivering exceptional patient care and service excellence across its medical facilities. Catering to a diverse population, Aurora has established itself as a leader in health services through its integration of advanced technologies and patient-centered care models. As a large public medical facility, Aurora emphasizes not only clinical excellence but also the overall patient and visitor experience, recognizing the critical role that front-line staff play in shaping the impression of the organization.
The role of Concierge Supervisor at Aurora Health Care is a pivotal position designed to oversee the daily operations of the concierge team, ensuring that all guests at the medical center receive personalized, attentive, and exceptional service from the moment they arrive until their departure. This is a supervisory role requiring a strong leader who can effectively manage a team, coordinate workflows, and maintain high standards of customer service. The Concierge Supervisor acts as the initial point of contact for patients, visitors, and guests, making sure that every individual’s needs are promptly met and that their experience within the medical center is as comfortable and seamless as possible.
Key responsibilities for the Concierge Supervisor include orienting and training new employees, providing ongoing coaching and support, and monitoring employee performance while keeping management informed about any issues or disciplinary concerns. The Supervisor collaborates with management to develop and maintain policies and procedures that uphold the department’s standards and enhances the overall service quality.
A critical component of the role involves managing operational details such as maintaining department keys and pass cards, ensuring the workplace is safe and orderly, and facilitating smooth traffic flow at all entrances to the facility. The Concierge Supervisor is also responsible for managing security or safety concerns and working closely with the Public Safety Services Department when necessary to maintain a secure environment.
In providing direct service, the supervisor assesses customer needs immediately upon arrival, offering assistance ranging from transportation arrangements, such as taxi vouchers and bus passes, to coordinating parking and valet services. Supervisors also help guests with mobility by providing wheelchairs, escorting patients to their destinations, and guaranteeing a warm, welcoming presence that upholds Aurora’s reputation for guest care.
The ideal candidate for this role will possess excellent leadership capabilities paired with strong interpersonal and communication skills. They should have the ability to solve problems independently, work flexible schedules tailored to the needs of Aurora’s guests, and demonstrate experience in customer service, preferably within a hospital setting. Physical stamina is important, as the role requires standing, walking, and occasionally running throughout the day, exposure to outdoor weather conditions, and the ability to push or lift moderate weight.
While no formal licensure or certification is required, a high school diploma and at least two years of service management experience as a concierge or greeter in a large public setting are necessary. Familiarity with hospital operations and proficiency in health management systems such as Epic are advantageous. With a strong team-oriented approach and a dedication to patient satisfaction, the Concierge Supervisor plays a vital role in enhancing the visitor experience and supporting Aurora Health Care’s mission to provide superior health care services.
