Arrow Senior Living is dedicated to creating a home-like environment, not only for its residents but also for its team members, emphasizing a culture of employee appreciation, growth opportunities, and strong core values. This organization prides itself on promoting within, offering incentives and comprehensive benefits that support employees' well-being and professional development.
Arrow Senior Living is currently seeking a skilled and motivated Cook to join their team at The Summit Senior Living located at 16100 Chenal Valley Dr., Little Rock, Arkansas. This is a full-time position with a highly competitive starting wage ranging from $15.00 to $20.50 per hour. The work schedule includes shifts on Friday and Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm, and shifts on Sunday and Monday from 12 pm to 8 pm. The role is ideal for individuals passionate about culinary excellence and providing exceptional meal experiences to senior residents.
As a Cook at The Summit Senior Living, you will be more than just a food preparer—you will be a Culinary Craftsman responsible for delivering high-quality, attractively presented menu items within specified timelines while adhering to established standards and recipes. Your role ensures the highest health and safety standards, including maintaining strict hygiene, proper food preparation techniques, and temperature controls, fundamentally contributing to the residents' health and satisfaction. The position also emphasizes relationship-building with residents by familiarizing yourself with their preferences and needs and actively participating in resident orientations when required.
This role demands physical stamina, as it involves standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and frequently lifting or moving items up to 50 pounds. You must be comfortable working in environments with extreme temperatures including cooking surfaces and walk-in freezers and be flexible to work primarily indoors but also participate in outside events occasionally. Additionally, the candidate must be 18 years or older, criminally cleared, and possess a current Food Handlers Card per Department of Health regulations. Effective communication skills in English and demonstrated leadership, training, and supervision abilities are essential to performing well in this role.
Working at Arrow Senior Living means being part of a company that values its employees and promotes a positive workplace culture. Benefits include a company match 401(k) plan with 100% match up to the first 3%, medical, dental, vision, and disability insurance for full-time employees, life insurance coverage, paid time off accruing up to 115 hours annually for full-time staff, tuition reimbursement for both full-time and part-time employees after 90 days, and various employee assistance and recognition programs. Employees also enjoy perks such as complimentary meals each shift, a daily pay option, and direct deposit facilities.
At Arrow Senior Living, promoting from within is a priority, offering team members ample growth opportunities and a chance to develop fulfilling career paths. The company's commitment to an inclusive working environment means they serve and employ individuals regardless of faith, race, color, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, age, or disability in compliance with applicable state and federal laws.
