Job Description

Our healthcare partner, VPNE, specializing in patient care services within hospital environments, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Patient Transporter. VPNE and its partner hospitals are committed to delivering exceptional healthcare services with a strong emphasis on patient safety, dignity, and comfort during medical transport within hospital settings. The company is known for partnering with leading hospitals to provide essential supportive roles that contribute directly to the patient care experience.

The role of Patient Transporter is crucial to ensuring that patients move safely and comfortably from one part of the hospital to another or upon discharge from the facility. This position requires a compassionate and service-oriented approach, along with an absolute commitment to safety and adherence to institutional policies and procedures. Patient Transporters are responsible for operating and maintaining transport equipment such as wheelchairs and stretchers to ensure they are clean and functioning correctly. This way, patient transport is efficient and performed with the highest regard to safety and comfort.

In this role, individuals will act as an essential link between patients and various hospital teams by facilitating smooth transitions from patient rooms to their destinations such as labs, treatment areas, or discharge points, including arranging transport to vehicles when patients leave the hospital. Effective communication is key to this position as it involves engaging with patients to provide reassurance and care during transport. The Patient Transporter must ensure service, care, and patient satisfaction are priorities in every interaction, elevating the overall hospital experience.

This position is entry-level, which means it is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are beginning their healthcare careers or are looking to join the healthcare sector in a patient-supportive role. Candidates are expected to have a high school diploma or GED and demonstrate proficiency in English both verbally and in writing. Physical demands are a key consideration for this role, as the job requires walking short and long distances, pushing wheelchairs, and lifting loads of up to 300 pounds or more.

The Patient Transporter will also be expected to use mobile technology tools as part of the workflow, maintaining accurate records and adhering strictly to the policies for reporting incidents and maintaining consistent communication with all colleagues and hospital staff. The role includes occasional delivery of specimens to the laboratory, ensuring timely and safe transport.

By joining VPNE and its respected hospital partners, you will be part of a dedicated team committed to making a positive difference in patients' hospital journeys. This role is perfect for compassionate, physically capable individuals who are eager to provide outstanding service in a hospital environment. We encourage individuals who meet these requirements and share the values of care and dedication to apply and contribute to a supportive hospital environment.
