Job Description

The Salvation Army is a well-established charitable organization that has been serving communities for over a century. Known for its commitment to providing hope and help to those in need, The Salvation Army operates rehabilitation facilities nationwide that offer support to individuals facing various challenges, such as substance abuse. Their programs are designed to address not only physical needs but also emotional, spiritual, and social well-being, fostering an environment where participants can achieve healthier, more fulfilling lives. Through a combination of structured residential programs and compassionate care, The Salvation Army aims to create meaningful opportunities for personal growth and recovery for its beneficiaries.

Within this impactful and supportive environment, The Salvation Army seeks a dedicated Cook to join their team. This position plays a crucial role in their Adult Rehabilitation Centers by ensuring that nutritious and safely prepared meals are consistently provided to residents and staff. The Cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking food according to established menus while maintaining strict adherence to health and safety standards. Additionally, the role requires tracking inventory efficiently and supporting kitchen operations to uphold sanitary conditions. The position works closely with program administrators and may involve mentoring beneficiaries by exemplifying professional kitchen conduct and work habits. Scheduled to work Thursday through Saturday, this role is vital in sustaining the quality and safety of food services within the rehabilitation center. The successful candidate will bring culinary skills, an understanding of food safety protocols, and a commitment to teamwork, all contributing to The Salvation Army’s mission of rehabilitation and support.
